Ultimate SupportTS-100B Lift-Assist Speaker Stand (Single)

Upon opening the box and trying the stand, the little metal pushpin inside the top of the riser tube popped out and rolled across the floor, rendering the stand useless for the size hole in my speaker. It fell off the spring that it's pressed and cross-peened into. The design of this stand works with 2 different size mounting holes by pressing the pins on both sides of the tube and sliding up a smaller tube. But, the cross-peening that holds the little metal pin to the spring inside the riser tube was done very poorly and the pin fell off. It says it has a lifetime warranty. I thought, "I'll give them a call on the number provided with the product, and when I tell them about their simple manufacturing defect on a 50 cent part, they'll send me a new spring with properly attached pins." Man, was I wrong. The woman at their call center said I had to send in pictures of the manufacturing defect, a picture of the entire product, proof of purchase and then they would determine whether this was covered under their warranty, or not. So, I called again to see what some other call center agent would say. She took a different approach. She said if I bought it from Amazon, there is no warranty, and my only recourse is to return to Amazon. Not at all. Just trying to run me through bureaucratic processes, push me away, refuse warranty coverage, and ultimately get off the phone quickly. Neither lady that I talked to at Ultimate even bothered to find out what the problem was. They just started telling me the hoops I had to jump through and why they weren't going to get the problem fixed.Hard working? Maybe overworked.Distinguished among others? Ultimate is distinct in my mind as a company that over promises, then under delivers.Their "distinguished support" could have let me tell them what part was defective out of the box, then dropped the part in the mail to me. I would have been happy, and impressed that they would do business the old fashioned way. Instead, I'm returning the stand to Amazon and looking for something else to buy.

Love the stands very sturdy and nice only thing I would change is the tighten knobs they don't give you enough length to untighten so I'm always having to pick up the bit

I think overall, this is a great speaker stand. I use it on a weekly basis because the hydraulic/air-powered system significantly helps for the setup that I use. It's a simple and easy setup. My issue is what happens over time. Either because the air-powered system is too strong or because the way these are manufactured, the locking mechanism, primarily the hand knob tends to strip over time. I've bought four of these, three of which have had trouble locking when I'm not using them. In other words, the neck of the stand will not stay down when not in use. This is due to the stripping of the knob. Over time, I've had to tighten it more and more to keep the neck of the stand down, and it's come to a point when the knob doesn't do its job of keeping the stand down. Ultimate Support is not willing to cover these under their warranty, so I've had to replace three of these knobs this past year, even though all I needed was for them to send me knobs. After multiple emails inquiring a lot of information on the product I bought, when I bought it, and etc, they were unwilling to send me the necessary parts to fix this issue. In all, I would beware of the longevity of these stands as well as Ultimate Support's customer service.

I just realized today.These stands have been in the same spot for like three years. I haven't moved the speakers an inch, except for the occasional (ok, the "monthly")... (OK. Yeah. The... SEMI-annual... What are you , my freaking girl friend???) vacuuming, under them.I'm getting ready to actually use them out of my place, for a fun "play and jam" thing.The speakers, extended, on these stands, have not dropped a perceptible millimeter... in three years.Yes they are stiff. Yes the legs are not one second to open or adjust.But when I was looking at the connections on the speakers I looked at the stands again.Killer value. I knew when I bought them that I would want them one day. Now I do.I invested well.RECCOMENDED.

I already own Ultimate products and have been impressed with the quality.The TS-100s are very heavy duty (they weigh more than twice as much as my old Ultimate stands, probably due to the hydraulics). At first, I didn't realizethat there was an inner sleeve in the tube that you have to pull out andlock to fit the recesses in the bottom of my JBLs (no actual instruction or diagram included in the paperwork!). The stands work really well, however, with a 43 lb. speaker, it elevates the speaker a lot slower (you have to help it a little)than the demonstration in the NAMM show video. They are, however working out great! I would rate it a 5, if not for the lack of thorough illustrations in the included instructions.

I am updating the review because as time has gone on I realize these Speaker Stands have saved me TREMENDOUS amounts of lifting!!!THEY ARE ONE OF THE BEST INVESTMENTS I MADE FOR MY DJ COMPANY... I'll be buying more soon!!!The air assist when raising the speakers is incredible, My speakers are 15" and weigh over 45 pounds (21 Kilo) and the airlift picks them up without a problem. Lowering the speakers is simple as well, I just grab the speaker handle pull down and take them off the stand. THESE ARE AMAZING STANDS... I used the older set of stands without the air recently and it made me realize just how wonderful these stands really are... SPEND THE EXTRA $$ You will be glad you did... I know I am

Awesome! Sturdy, not light-weight! Great quality! This is how the piston works:As soon as you unscrew the top knob, the bar starts raising and if you don't have a speaker or anything to hold it down, you will need help to bring the pole back down and turn the knob to hold in position.Really awesome! What a price for this compared to other retailers... for a pair I saved $ 150 at minimum.

I purchased 2 of these stands in March 2016 & in November 2016 one of the 2 stand keeps rising within my Gator bag. Luckily the Gator bag is strong & sturdy so it stops the stand from rising fully to it’s limit but the bag is starting to show signs of stress now. You may suggest that I am not tightening the fastening enough but I do. In fact I actually overtightened it trying to stop it from slowly rising in the bag & broke the thread on the clamp. I then swapped the clamp from the base to the riser bar as the base doesn’t really need to be locked in position, unfortunately the same thing is starting to happen again.

Excellent stands. Very happy I thoroughly researched P.A. speaker stands otherwise I would not have stumbled across these. Excellent quality as expected from Ultimate Support and the product itself is so easy to use, it's a wonder this idea wasn't implemented decades ago.Recommended.
