Waste of money. This is not a volcano project. It’s just some fizzing
I wanted to write a review for this in particular. This was a HUGE disappointment. This is MOT a volcano. This is just some fizzing. The end. Save urself the money and buy baking soda and you’ll get the same results for way cheaper. This was incorporated as part of our science lesson at home and wow the huge disappointment at the end. U just mix some water with the compound and it fizzes. That’s it. There’s no volcano etc. just molds. Now I have a 4 year old asking but where’s the eruption??? Where’s the volcano. Skip this one. Happily we got another one by another company which will hopefully be more fun. This was boring and completely a let down.

A simple well put together kit that my son had a blast with
My son loves volcanoes. He can't get enough of them. We've already done some projects with some different kits that had the kids decorate the volcanoes and then just throw in some vinegar and baking soda. This one was a bit more creative, with multiple colors and places to let the liquid bubble over and mix. And it the book provided some fun information on a real location that the kit was modeled after. My son liked it enough that we pretty much had to pry it out of his hands to get him to get ready for the nighttime routine. It offered enough supplies to take it out and re-use it a few times, and it's not hard to add your own supplies if you want to keep it going. The included supplies are actually rather decent quality items, and my son loved the gloves and glasses. For me the thing that made this a bit more fun than the other kits I've picked up is that it provides a bottle of some kind of goo (I'm sure the instructions detail what it actually is), that you add to the mixture which thickens the foam and keeps it from fizzing out as fast as your standard baking soda kit would. So the colorful foam sticks around for the kids to play around with and also displays the color nicely. The included dye is nice as well. All and all a nice kit. We had a lot of fun.

Kids really enjoyed this!
The kids enjoyed the lava flows and discussing the chemicals involved with making the lava bombs and why they reacted that way. I think they were looking for an explosion but this is not dangerous in that way as the "lava" was fizzing and flowing. It also did a good job with the PH experiment and we didn't just discuss it for volcanoes but also how acid and base plays into other daily things such as swimming pool chemistry. Overall this was a good experiment for them and the manual does a good job explaining the reactions. Good buy for a science project!

All items included. Kid really enjoyed. Not too messy.
This product has all needed items to perform experiments. I ordered another kit by this brand where every experiment required extras—think forgetting batteries on Christmas morning is a huge “fail?” Try telling your kid your fresh out of wool for her science experiment kit. (Bc when did kids want science experiment kits requiring wool for Christmas?)Back to the volcanic eruptions kit... I loved that chemistry behind the chemical reactions was included, but my 8 year old couldn’t have cared less. She just liked making things foam and fizz. I did the activities with her on the kitchen counter surface so clean-up was a breeze. It is a good idea for an adult to do this with the child as some of the “ingredients” and “products” can be a little caustic to the skin, which there are warnings about on packaging. One set of nitrile gloves were included. Great fun overall, but have time to do these activities with your kid.

Awesome science kit
My son really liked this kit. He enjoyed making the volcano bombs the most and watching them "erupt" I really like how they included safety goggles in the kit. Another cool thing was all the little bits of information about volcanoes throughout the instruction book.
