can it be etched to create damascus

1095 is great for taking a etched pattern via painting on acrylic paint in the pattern you want then dipping in acid. a different way to do it is you you can apply lair thick lair of clay before quenching to to make a hamon witch will also show up in etching, you can take a dissimilar steel like 1075 or 15n20 to make your own Damascus patterns. it takes patients prep work, and time to make Damascus with the first two being the most impotent. I would order a book on making Damascus it also does take a forge but if you shop around you can get a small gas forge (which is best when making Damascus) for around 300 bucks.
