Side by Side Comparison - handy tool
Working on a commercial remodel project (as the tenant) we needed to be able to map out a new space. Since we didn't communicate with each other, one of us bought the Bosch and I the Tavool device from Amazon and showed up to the space at the same time. This was a great opportunity for a comparison. Usability was the same, but I found that while I confidently knew that when measuring my device was "in the distance" due to the icon on the screen, my Bosch counterpart didn't know readily from their screen. We both found our measurements to be the same, and it matched our tape measure. Both were able to reflect off most surfaces including window covering for measuring.I did find the room dimension feature oddly useful, i didn't expect to use it but was nice to get a quick area calculation.

Excellent product at a good price
This is an easy to use, extremely accurate measuring tool - just what I needed. I encountered two relatively minor annoyances: the paper user manual that came with the product had a font so small that I couldn't read it, and the description on the website that tells you to hit the power button for a short time to turn it off is incorrect (the only way to power off is to wait until it times out and turns itself off).UPDATE: changing my rating to 3. I emailed the support team for this product, told them that I couldn't read the user manual and requested a PDF version. They responded: "Could you please send us your 17-digit order number on the Amazon purchase page? Once we confirm the information, we will handle it for you as soon as possible."HUH?? They can't share the user manual with anyone who cannot supply an Amazon order number? Did it ever occur to them that potential customers might like to read the manual before deciding to purchase? Are there trade secrets in the manual? The irony, of course, is that the Chinese have stolen countless trade secrets in a relentless program of corporate espionage over the past 50 years - only yesterday the Chinese military banned Tesla vehicles because they had cameras. I'm not holding my breath waiting for the PDF, and I certainly won't buy this product again.

Great device in compact size
So far I really like what I'm able to do with this device. It is small enough to carry around and easy to manipulate. The measurements seem accurate for my purposes. I like how you have the option for the unit to convert the reading into different units of measurement (I.E. ft, meters, inches...etc). I also like that you have the option to tell the unit whether you want it to consider it's own body length in the measurement you are trying to take. The screen appears bright enough for when and what I will be using it for. So far, very happy with the purchase. Hope it lasts a good long while.

Accurate and Easy to Use
This laser measure is pretty sweet! There is a bit of a learning curve because of all the functions it offers. Once you get it though, it’s easy to use. I found I only use the distance function but it also will measure area and volume. One thing I wish it did was combine feet and inches into one single measurement. Another thing was either my floor and counter are not level (very possible) or the glass bubble was put in crooked. Either way it matched my tape measure.See pictures. It’s very accurate for what I was able to compare it to. I had it measure from the back of the unit but if you want you can switch to measure off the front.Very cool device, especially if you need to measure something really long.

Why didn't I have one of this years ago!?
I LOVE this device. We have done tons of home projects but I've always used the old school tape measure that has it's own issues. We decided to purchase this device to help measure our oddly shaped backyard so we can install new turf. It requires requires over 20 measurements. Our measuring tape was not even long enough so we would have to use a string, then measure the string to get measurements. We purchased the Laser distance meter and I tested it out today. I read the entire manual, which I recommend that you do so that you can understand the full functionality. I love that it can do area, volume, and the Pythagorean theorem measurement is ingenious! You can use it to measure the height of something that does not have a clear place to reflect the laser. Just measure the top from a distance, and then the base of the thing you are trying to measure and BAM you will have the height. The device comes with 2 AAA batteries so you will be ready to test it out right away. It even stores up to 19 past measurements and there is a function to add or subtract previous measurements for you! I tested it out in my yard on places that I already had the measurements and it was accurate! There has only been one Con that I have seen so far and that is that if the sun is shining on the spot that you are trying to measure (especially if you are further away) you will get an error saying the signal is too weak. That is unfortunate for me since I need it specifically to use outdoors. If you are looking for a Laser Distance Meter, the price point is great, and the device has many functions and is accurate. I highly recommend. Happy with my purchase.

Exactly what I wanted
This is the first laser measurer I've used so I don't have much to compare it to, but, considering it was the least expensive example I could find, it seems to work perfectly, and do everything I want it to. I'm not an engineer or surveyor, just a homeowner, so the while I can't measure the accuracy down to the smallest degree, I can see that it agrees with every tape measure I've checked it against. It's intuitive to use, responds quickly, and seems well-built. It's doesn't come with a carrying case, just a lanyard, and that seems like a perfectly acceptable thing to cut to keep the price low. If I have one quibble it's that it does not display measurements in feet-and-inches. In addition to meters, it can display feet, like "1.5ft", or inches like "18.0in" but it won't show "1ft 6in". Not sure if that's a feature the more expensive units have, but even if so, I can live without it to save a few dollars.
