Had to find another one
My wife has had this since high school and college, and the plastic clip that keeps the unit together finally broke. Other than that clip breaking, this unit still works. I searched and searched and finally found a new one on Amazon and boy was my wife happy. Conair makes some excellent quality goods, and you can't find goods like this anymore, even if you are spending more money. Thanks, Conair

Never thought it possible for an iron to be this bad!
This two-in-one Conair curling and straightening iron looked EXACTLY like the one I had before that worked like a charm for both curling and straightening. However, after years of use, the on button stopped working and with a heavy heart, I had to get rid of it. I was ecstatic to see this one online years after I tossed my original and couldn’t wait to use it.Unfortunately, my excitement was short-lived. I have NEVER had this problem before where a curling iron doesn’t curl my hair! I tried every setting from 10 to 25 and held small sections of my hair for 20 seconds, doing some sections multiple times. The iron was hot and the heat transferred to my hair, but when I unraveled it, it fell straight as if I straightened it instead.I have used several curling irons in my time and NEVER had a problem creating or keeping a curl. I seriously can’t figure what would cause this and I’m EXTREMELY disappointed! The worst part is I can’t even return it since the packaging accidentally got thrown out, so it’s a lose-lose. Don’t touch this item. Nothing like the original!

Worst ever!
Don't be fooled (like I was) into thinking that this is the same product as the prior dual-function model. I moved out of state and lost track of my beloved Conair curling iron/straightener that I had used for years, and I ordered this one because it appeared to be the same thing. It isn't. This is the worst design ever and is counter-intuitive in every way. Worst of all, there is no switch to lock the barrel so that it can be used as a curling iron. Don't waste your money!
