Does this work well for cystic acne?

Yes, it did work for me for 3 weeks then I have a small break out. I stopped taking these after a month trying something else.

Did anyone have bad breakouts from this pill? If so is this like some that gets bad then better after awhile or is it going to get worse?

It gets bad then gets way better. I used these for about ten years. I finally stopped using them in my thirties and it got worse then better. Same thing. But now I'm cured.
