Art without cruelty
I waited so long to buy this. I'm not a professional artist, but when I took up painting a few years ago, my enthusiasm dwindled a bit when I realised that to get the 'best' brush strokes, we need to sacrifice innocent lives. My view on the progressiveness, the 'freeness' and most of all the 'connection' to nature and the universe, of artists quickly became questionable. We are at an age where old ways of doing things are questioned and that should include how our biggest creations affect other sentient beings and if artists failed to do that, by still using blood bristles to bring forth their precious, then there's no hope. I'm loving the feel of this brush and I cannot wait to see the magic it brings out knowing I wasn't responsible for the death of squirrels when that brush is used. Hope more and more of the well renowned brush makers and art suppliers make their products cruelty free.

Made in China
This brush is OK. It holds water quite well, keeps its point, after being wet and dries again, it retains its form. Nothing wrong there. But for me it is quite disappointing that it is made in China. I should have researched better beforehand, of course, but it seems the lowest class brushes of Princeton are made in China, the rest - in Japan and the highest grade - in Germany. So the joy of the new brush was gone as soon as I saw "China" on it. I guess this is to be cheaply manufactured. I have yet to see how long it will stay in shape, keeping in mind where it has been made.

Hits the sweet spot for washes and details.
Perfect size for washes and larger details. Purchased this to use with my Van Gogh vibrant pocket paint set which comes with a brush. The brush in the set is about 1.5-2 sizes smaller than this brush which makes them both together, the perfect pair for washes and then finer details

Toller Pinsel
Ne Weile habe ich fuer Sumi-e Aquarelltechnicken einen tauglichen Pinsel gesucht und hiermit endlich gefunden. Die Borsten sind formstabil, haben eine feine Spitze und sind dabei trotzdem so flexibel, dass sie nicht ueber das Papier 'springen'. Das 'Springen' meint, wenn die Borsten einen bestimmten Winkel zum Papier erreichen, rutschen sie vom Papier ab und 'springen'. Farbgeklekse und unpraezise Linen sind die Folge. Gerade wenn man etwas gegen den Strich des Pinsel arbeitet passiert das schnell bei anderen.
