A very effective way to light up a room
I’ve no idea if the claimed output or duration is accurate, but these little lamps are more than capable of lighting up a room. Even the reduced light setting is more than adequate. They feel rugged, well made and very versatile in the way they can be hanged from - or propped up at different angles - by the built in handle. So as an emergency light, they are far more useful than a torch. In fact, having bought one set, I bought another, So now even the garden shed has a very usable work light . Only a couple of niggles. The first set arrived with instructions of which some were nonsense. The battery compartment slides open - it isn’t screwed. The battery polarity as described is incorrect. The rechargeable batteries are already in place, so ignore the instructions! But do remember to remove the plastic disks at the end of batteries that prevent them discharging during storage. Clearly, the customers who complained that the lamps weren’t charging, didn’t do this. These instructions also urge you to recharge the batteries before they go flat. Unfortunately there’s no way of knowing when that’s going to happen. But if it does, then you can use four AA batteries instead. The sellers are obviously aware of these poor instructions , because they solved the problem in the second set by not including any at all! Despite these minor points, and if they last anywhere near the figures claimed, as emergency or work lights , these rechargeable lamps are excellent value and it’s very useful to have a few around the house.

Handy little lights - I bought two of them.
Update: October 2023. These lights are fabulous for our loft. We just stand them on top of a box. They throw a good, and wide light, too. My spouse is VERY pleased with them, too - and she thinks they were an excellent purchase. So the 45W version of these lights get our approval. Original Review: Brightness? - I assume the "45W" is "incandescent (old-type) bulb equivalent" - they do not put out anywhere near 45W of LED power!. But they are bright enough - like a decent torch. Water Resistance? - I have doubts about the IP65 rating. IP62 (or IP52) would seem about right to me. "splashproof" - but if you drop them in a bucket of water, the design makes them unlikely to survive (unsealed battery case, and I can see the circuit board when the charging cover is open!). Versatility? - yeah, pretty good. 1) small enough to be easily carried, 2) they have a handle that folds out that can also be used as a stand, 3) they have a pair of internal 18650 (rechargeable) batteries, but if you were camping or something and they run out, you can take them out and fit 4 x AA batteries instead. That battery space design IMO is rather clever! 4) there is a USB 5V "out" socket to charge other devices (such as phones), so when camping, power outages, etc., you can use the lights as "power banks". I attached them to a 12W (2.4A) charger, and they charged fine. Reading the reviews of some other folks, I wonder if they got a faulty product, or whether they attached them to a really high power charger (and it may be the light does not fully regulate maximum charging power) - but that is just speculation. Mine work for me with the 12W (2.4A) 5V "phone" charger I used to charge them, with no issues at all. There is no "user manual" - so you are left to guess that when charging, "flashing red" means "charging", "solid red" means "charged up". (There is a small red light next to the charging socket, which is under the rectangular "rubbery" cover. The circular "rubbery" bit is the on-off switch!, and is NOT for opening etc.) The front "glass" (plastic?) does warm up a tad when used on full brightness for a decent length of time. The batteries warm up a tad, too. Not hot, mind, just lukewarm. All in all, I am very pleased with them (only had them a week). Handy for the loft, the shed etc.

Excellent versatile bright work light
Excellent quality long lasting rechargeable work and emergency light, can also charge your phone, not at the fastest speed but can top up your phone in an emergency setting. It can be used with regular batteries, rechargeable batteries are included, can be charged and used with a usb power bank, can also be used with batteries in the device with external power, very versatile with multiple levels of light, it has 3 settings in total, long lasting on both levels, easy to use and well packaged comes with charging cable, mine came with latest USB c, no charger in box but that keeps cost down, definitely value for money a hand to have in car and at home.

Excellent work light.
Very good work lamp. Bright and lights up a large area. No problem at all with battery compartment as described by another reviewer. Good solid construction. Extremely handy device for many lighting scenarios. Great that it can use AA batteries as well as the rechargeable ones supplied.

Brightness isn’t everything
Ok it’s very bright for its size, it’s good it has USB charging, and it’s small enough to go into a pocket, I like the clever feature - accepting non charging AA size batteries if you exhaust rechargeable batteries, it lasts reasonably long on full charge, and the larger 1850 rechargeable batteries are replaceable. On the negative side I suppose it depends on what you’re going to use it for but for dark areas eg for DIY it’s just too darn bright and too narrow a beam of light, also the colour temperature of the light makes it tiring (on your eyes) to use. The prop stand is very basic - poor functionality - eg there’s no magnet, no hook, no stand off. The on/off button is recessed which makes it hard to find. The cover for the USB is fiddly. If using for DIY or fine work I’d suggest buying the work type (larger & better colour temperature) LED lights available on Amazon for about £30, these lights have a much wider even light coverage and are easier on your eyes. But for the money it’s good value.
