Absolutely the best
Of the three illustrated books JK Rowling has written for Lumos, Beedle the bard, fantastic beasts, quidditch through the ages, this book has the most detailed, enjoyable experience. So much extra was gained in this version in contrast to the unillustrated book, such as museum notes, imaginary documentation and art work that resembles other famous works of art but made wizardy. As an art historian, that tickled me. The artist really got into the illustrations. I mean really geeked out in a beautiful way! I am recommending this book to all my friends and family. It really is so impressive.

Simply Brilliant
First, I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who purchased the non-illustrated version of this book. This version is simply brilliant and hysterical (see attached drawing excerpts). You are given an in-depth understanding of the history of the game of Quidditch from its ancient beginnings to present day angst (I particularly enjoyed the Chudley Cannons club motto, "Lets all just keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best". This book represents the very best of British creativity and humour--it has a very Monty Pythonesque feel to it. This is a MUST own for any Harry Potter fan, but the genius of it is that it also stands on its own. It is independently clever. I would read this to a child as an account of a fictional sport (even if the kid in question knew nothing of the world of Harry Potter). Well done J.K. Rowling!
