Can you run in the falling snow?

Only sometimes, and in the right shoes.

Does this unit get warm with consistent use

Not enough to notice it, or not as bad as the cheap ones. If you're that worried, then buy a battery lamp then.....u have to expect a little warmth from a built-in lith battery. This is rechargable

Can you turn off adaptive brightness mode?

Yes, push and hold the switch until it changes. You have to develop the “touch” to get this right since pushing on the switch also changes the brightness.
