Let me just say... I am impressed. Super easy to put together, decent length cord. I mean let's be honest they're never long enough but this one is decently long. Lightweight and Powerful suction which is the most important part, To me anyway. Whenever I get a new vacuum for some reason I have like this need to use it right away. I went into a spare room that has a rug that is fairly new and it sucked up so much of the "new rug lint" that I couldn't even believe it. I would definitely say that this vacuum is worth purchasing. As a matter of fact my daughter asked me for the link and I told her let me try it first see how it is and if it's good I will send you the link and I already have!! Buy this.

I looked at lots of vacuums and read lots of reviews. This Eureka PowerSpeed NEU 180 sounded good, with lots of great reviews. I need something that will take care of pet hair (dog and a cat) and be simple to use and empty, and not require replaceable filters. A lot of reviewers showed how much hair the vac got up after using their old vacuum first. They were not kidding! I ran the Eureka over a short nap carpet about 15 x 15 feet, and the dust bin was nearly full of hair and dirt. it had only been a couple of days since I vacuumed with my old Rainbow. I am amazed! This thing is light and easy to maneuver, gets under the toe space and under the edges of furniture easily. It cleans right to the edge. Unlike any vacuum I ever had before, this is NOT noisy. I always wore hearing protectors with the old ones, and don't even need them with this Not loud or obnoxious at all. The ease of dumping the dust bin is a big thing for me. I hesitated to use the Rainbow because you have to fill it with water, then find a place to dump the water/dirt/hair sludge. Then rinse and clean the cannister. My old Filter Queen used paper filters that need to be changed, and it was a nasty dusty mess to empty. Also very heavy. Also expensive: I paid something like $450 for that think way back in 1972! The new Eureka Was $78. Both the Filter Queen and Rainbow were getting problems, but still worked. I also have a Dirt Devil I bought years ago and used about twice and hated. (Want them? Come and get 'em for FREE.) I can't find anything negative about the Eureka. I am looking forward to vacuuming the rest of the house and picking up a bushel of pet hair. Some notes on things previous reviewers complained about: Some folks talked about the hole in the end of the handle, and that the hose was too short. They must not have gotten the instructions with theirs. The handle doubles as a wand that extends the hose so you can reach furniture, drapes, etc. The Owner's Use Manual that came with mine is great. Well Illustrated, thorough, and easy to understand. Another plus. Several people said the height adjustment did not work, and it either was too low and burned the carpet, or too high and wouldn't clean. I checked min before using it, and the height adjustment wheels were indeed stuck and would not lower when you turned the knob. I called Customer Service right away. Got a person quickly who was very helpful. While she was taking my information, I kept fiddling with the height rollers, and it started working! I am not mechanically illiterate, but do not know why it unstuck or what was holding it to begin with. So, it works fine. I did find that Customer Service was very responsive. I will update this review if anything changes or problems arise. Maybe it is kind of sad that at this stage in life I get excited about a new vacuum (smile) but it is a real treat to find a great product at a great price that really works!

Before I do a review please learn from something I learned the hard way!! DO NOT BUY A SHARK PRODUCT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! They are not repairable, and they are junk. They do not last. I had 2- one upstairs and one downstairs. Both are dead and in the landfill. Even the simplest repairs are impossible as you need special tools to access the belt , brush roller and brush roller motor. This Bissell has proved as adequate as the Shark that I had. The cost of the Bissell is less than half of the Shark. Nothing fancy, but it does the job. More user-friendly than the Shark and lighter in weight. I’ve had this for a few months and have no complaints. The manual that comes with this vac also has repair instructions included. Nothing fancy, but it does the job. I am highly satisfied with this product and would buy it again. My biggest complaint is that does not come with extension tubes for up-high cleaning.

I was honestly surprised by how much I like this vacuum. The Eureka Lightweight Powerful Upright Vacuum Cleaner (PowerSpeed, New Model) really lives up to its name — “lightweight” and “powerful” are spot-on. I have a medium-sized dog who sheds a lot, and my old vacuum used to struggle with the fur, especially on carpet. This Eureka model glides easily across both my carpet and hard floors, picking up stray hair and crumbs without me having to go over the same spot a dozen times. One of my favorite parts is how easy it is to maneuver. It’s light enough that I can carry it up and down the stairs without feeling like I’m getting a workout. The suction is strong for its size, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much it pulled from rugs that looked clean already. The dust cup is easy to detach and empty — no mess, no fuss. If I had to nitpick, I’d say it’s a bit noisier than some other models I’ve used, and the cord could be a little longer for bigger rooms. But for the price and performance, those are small trade-offs in my book. Overall, this vacuum is a great choice if you want something budget-friendly that still performs like a champ — especially if you’ve got pets. Nice! So I haven't needed a vaccuum for a long time and when I did my daughter talked me into one of those stick ones. The hard floor it was good but the carpet I now have I knew it wasn't really getting the deep down stuff so I decided to get a real vaccuum and boy what a difference! This sucks stuff up before I even get to it, it's light weight, holds quite a bit in the canister, I like that the filter is washable, all the attachments have a place to stow on the unit itself so if you want to change a head piece you don't have to go hunt them down and it's pretty cool that the handle works as a rod when using the attachments everything all contained right there. I'm familiar with Eureka and they've been around forever then came a special price about 70.00 $'s cheaper than my stick so I jumped on it. I'm glad I did. I don't feel like it's incredibly loud at least not any louder than any other upright and maybe the cord could be a bit longer but not worth reducing stars over. I do miss the headlight though but seeing I mostly vaccuum during the day it's also not that big of a deal.

This may not be the most expensive model but it sure does the job. I think having the various levels - 1 -5 cleans all my different rug designed. It pushes back and forth on my shag. Whereas, I used to have to put my vacuum to the farthest area and pull it toward me because it was too difficult to push and pull. So the dirt in the rug most likely wasn't being picked up. I just bought some thinner washable rugs and it can be pushed and pulled; which picks up more dirt and dog hair. The selection of add on parts make cleaning couches and chairs and corner dirt easily. It does everything I was looking for.

I read the reviews about the excellent suction. I was skeptical. I have bought and returned so many vacuums that simply did not have enough suction. Years ago there use to be a Eureka Boss that was amazing. And I knew a field expert who said Eureka was always the best for power in vacuums. I have longed felt that, except the past several years Eureka has kept putting out vacuums that were weak in suction, and had fallen back years behind their original progress. Fast forward to now! Wow, just wow! This vacuum is a dynamo. Who redesigned it? Surely someone who vacuums! Here is what is so amazing about this vacuum (and I'm very picky and expect performance) 1. The suction. Yes, it has suction power! Finally my carpet is fluffed up again, just like it used to be. I don't wear my shoes inside the house, so my carpet always looks nice, but now when I vacuum it is extra fluffy and stands up from the nap of the carpet. 2. The design at the front end. The weight is finally at the front part of the vacuum, versus in the handle. This is important for a couple of reasons. For one, it is much easier to vacuum with, has weight without feeling like it has weight. It is called PowerSpeed, and I don't know if that is in reference to only needing one pass, but one thing is for certain is that the wheels and momentum lets me fly up and down the bedroom carpet with ease. So something is working right in this "speed" department. Bravo! 3. The edges are nice and square! I don't know why vacuums started having rounded corners, but these square edges mean when I'm doing the stairs, all parts of the step are cleaned. 4. Doesn't scatter like before. I'm able to suck up the stray litter rocks in the hall without having to chase them down. 5. Noise level is acceptable, slight high pitch but reasonable. 6. I did NOT find it giving up halfway through a task like the person with the long funny review stated. The vacuum performed the same after 2 bedrooms and 2 full set of staircases as it did when I first started vacuuming. I'm so glad Eureka went back to basic! No automatic cord retriever, and that's okay, because clearly we are paying for the vacuum to .... vacuum! Seriously, thank you to whoever was part of this design process. As a vacuum expert, this is 5-stars all the way. PS: There is one little quirk. The handle clicks. There is slight play in it and I'm not sure if it's just mine but I will order a replacement and see if that is a QC issue on all. It's minor, but if you have OCD like I do, the clicking is noticeable. All in all, I'm thrilled with it!

Update: After a couple of months worth of use, I thought I better revise my original review. I didn't have a large house and for some reason this vacuum keeps getting clogged. I have multiple cats and a dog. I vacuum every night, so it is not like I'm trying to pick up a ton of pet hair. I have to empty the canister after vacuuming the bedroom and hallway which is less than 200 ft.². I have to empty the canister again after vacuuming the living room, which is probably another 200 ft.². The hair gets stuck at the top of the canister by the little holes (see pictures) which creates a problem for the suction power. Dumping the canister out requires me to also use a pair of needle nose pliers to get the hair out of the internal cross member (see pictures). While this vacuumI started out really good, I would no longer recommend getting this particular vacuum for pet owners. Also, the plastic is not very durable. I have several very deep scratches in the canister due to vacuuming under my bed, which is on risers, and the bed frame gouges the canister because it will not get low enough for the vacuum to get under the bed. There are two types of people. Those that like an upright, and those like the canister. I am a diehard canister fan; however, replacing my Kenmore canister with a powerhead is economically not possible at this time. Looking at the reviews I decided on this upright. It still does not have all of the benefits of a canister, but this particular upright has made some modifications to satisfy, or help satisfy, the canister lover. For those canister lovers looking for an alternative because $600 is out of the budget, I do recommend this upright. It absolutely pulls the pet hair and dirt out of the carpets. In this respect, there is no difference between my old canister and this upright. While it is nowhere near as easy to maneuver as a canister, it's lightweight body and the handle on the chamber does make it better to maneuver than the traditional upright. One of the best features about a canister is when you disconnect the powerhead, you have a long hose that you can get underneath sofas, chairs, tables, curtains, or even vacuuming chairs off. This little upright, while the hose is nowhere near as long as a canister, they did make the handle detachable so that you can attach the hose to the handle for additional length. One of the most aggravating things about an upright for me is when I disconnect the hose, so that I can vacuum under a table, is that inevitably the upright falls over and falls on my back: Something a canister will never do. I have learned to lay the upright down when I disconnect the hose to vacuum under furniture to avoid it falling over. The bagless system is a nice feature, however, where are the chamber lines up with the section opening from the beater bars, it is not able to get 100% sealed, so some of the dust blows out around that connection. Not a horrible issue, but again something you don't have to deal with having a canister. Disconnection to dump the contents is very easy; however, there are a couple of issues that as someone with bad hands has to work around. It has a great push button at the bottom where one dumps the contents and that is super easy. However, releasing the top to get the filter out and clean it is not so easy. It is a plastic clasp you have to pull up in order to get it to disconnect to get the filter and the internal chamber out. I suspect that this will be the first thing to break because there is very little give to it. Why they didn't make it just a regular push button clasp like the bottom, I have no idea, but this release mechanism is set to fail overtime. The other thing that needs to be kept in mind is when the filter is taken out, it needs to be lined back up before closing the lid. There is a tiny slot on the rim of the internal removable plastic downdraft piece (I do not know what you call it) that must align with the slot in the actual vacuum cleaner in order to have it seat properly before putting the air filter back in. If it is misaligned, the lid will not properly lock. Overall I highly recommend this vacuum cleaner. I delayed writing a review for a couple of months to verify that I would still like it. While it is no canister, the price and the cleaning quality, suction and beater bar, is hard to beat and the price, that is a no-brainer. Update Two additional comments The electric cord is wonderfully long. It will stretch just as far as my canister, which will take me from doing my entire bedroom all the way out through the hall, the spare bathroom, and into the living room. Generally every upright that I have tried (borrowed) the cord will only get my bedroom and part of the hall, so I would have to move the cord from outlet to outlet. I was very pleased with the length of this electric cord. Also They vented the air through the front of this vacuum cleaner, which generally would not be a problem unless, like me, you have a lot of papers magnetized to the refrigerator, or cards/paperwork sitting on a table. There is so much air being pushed out through this vent that it will blow off anything attached to the refrigerator by magnets, or cards/paperwork on tables being vacuumed around and under.

My daughter did her research and discovered this vacuum cleaner. Her thinking was to check the 3-star reviews on all the vacuum cleaners and those will tell you what, if anything, is wrong with the product. Then she read the 4-star and 5-star reviews and was impressed so she bought this one. She loved how light and easy it was to use along with the strong suction. She vacuumed one room and filled the canister. She told her mom who told me about it. I read the 5-star reviews myself and was compelled to buy this vacuum and test it for myself, thinking, how could such a low-priced vacuum cleaner be so good? So, I vacuumed our bedroom with our higher-end Kenmore upright, which I thought was quite decent, and then followed by using this Eureka vacuum. Well, I filled half a canister with fine dust, fluff, and hair. Wow! So, I bought one for my mother-in-law and vacuumed her family room a few hours after she vacuumed it. She noticed her carpet was looking newer since the carpet fibres were standing up (from the suction). I examined the canister which was 3/4 full, and saw some fluff, a little hair but a lot of fine dust and what looked like super fine sand. She was impressed and since she had trouble with her elbow she loved how light and easy it was to use. So, Eureka has 3 loyal customers. Great design and engineering on this powerful and easy-to-use vacuum cleaner. To those who find it difficult to push, set the carpet pile one notch higher. You have to realize that with super suction comes a little effort to push but pulling is super easy. You can't have great suction without a little effort. Just remember to go slowly forward and backward to let the vibration and suction do their thing. In my opinion, this does a better job than $800 (even $2000) vacuum cleaners so I'm planning on buying a spare (or two) soon!

Okay I’ll be honest, at first I was sceptical because I’d not heard of the brand before and the price point was so good. When it was delivered I definitely got a look from my partner about this random vacuum I bought off Amazon lol. HOWEVER, it took all of 3 minutes to put together and read the instruction papers, we then immediately gave it a go and let me tell you, this did not disappoint. We had a shark vacuum prior to this that crapped out on us after 2 years, I think it really struggled with the fur and dirt produced by our 3 fur babies. So something a little more heavy duty with good suction was a must. My partner and I were SHOCKED at how much dirt and fur this thing yanked out of the shag rug in our living room. I kind of wish I had taken a picture, it was that much. All doubt was gone after the first use, this is the real deal. I like that the height of the head can be adjusted for the type of surface you’re using it on, I think the people saying it’s difficult to push just may be forgetting to adjust it. The suction is obviously fantastic, and it’s very easy to take the container out to dispose of the dirt and clean it out. The one negative about it is the hose length- it needs to be longer! I was leaning down using the crevice tool and the vacuum fell on my head haha. So, needs much more length to actually be practical for use. I’ve used it several times since and can honestly say I’m still totally amazed by how much crap this pulls out of the rugs, I feel like we’ve been living in squalor this whole time and didn’t even know it, deceived by our old vacuum. Get this!
