### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent life-changing advice

I was introduced to this book by someone I met while in hospital after surgery for a broken elbow. He was in post-surgery for oral and jaw cancer. This book could easily be titled "How to take action to improve your health", as many of the behaviour changes have benefits for health and wellness in general. The book is a very personal one (the author was himself diagnosed with caner at an early age), very well-written and authoritative (the author is a medic), and the information is trustworthy (the author is a research scientist an everything is based on well-conducted empirical studies). The latter should not put anyone off, as the book is eminently readable. If everyone read this book and put it into practice, the NHS budget could be vastly reduced and hospitals and ambulances would not be stretched to the max.

After my dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer I set out to look for proactive things that he could do to improve his overall health and, specifically, to create an environment within his body that would best enable it to prevent the cancer from recurring.It has been an interesting process, gathering all the information we could to determine what he could do to best improve his outcome. Interesting especially because of the realization that, in the end, optimum health (obtained through one's lifestyle) seems to be the best way to combat, and prevent, any and all diseases from taking hold in our bodies.So far I've found that this book and the movie "Forks over Knives", were the two most influential sources of the above conclusion. My family has now become vegan (including my mom and dad), eating a plant based diet without any processed foods.I highly recommend this book for people who are interested in understanding how cancer operates from a cellular level and what you can do to inhibit it from thriving and growing.
