Has anyone else experienced the blade being too small for the holder causing it to not lock into place ?

Yes, I have purchased this same blade before no issues. My recent purchase though I am having the same trouble you are.

How deep does this blade go? Will it work on magnet sheets for cars?

Depends on how thick the magnet sheets are, silhouette has a blade for thicker material.

Yes, the product description started that it will work in all Cameo products.
