EMGKFK Kerry King 81/85 Active Guitar Humbucker Pickup Set, Black

I've never used EMG pickups before but I would again in a heartbeat. These picks sound great and are super easy to install. Highly recommend.

I put these KFK pickups in my guitar and wow they are by far the best sounding pickups I have! I was able to change from passive to active by putting the battery in main compartment to avoid unnecessary drilling and it all works perfectly. Now my 200 dollar guitar sounds better than my 1500 dollar one! Drilling a hole for the toggle scared me a little but I did it no problem and I’m so glad I did. Amazing sick sound with the preamp. Just do it is my advice, you will freakin love it

The media could not be loaded. I love it! But I honestly thought it wouldn't come with the Installation wiring and the potentiometers, so I ordered a separate set and spent 80 extra dollars, I think EMG thought exactly that and that's why they haven't sent the set yet, I canceled the other set I would like to have a refund to be able to buy only the 3-position switch

I love these pickups. To be honest, I just wanted the 81/85 set of EMG's, as my B.C. Rich could use some kick. I had these professionally installed at a GC, as it required drilling. The pickups, of course, sound incredible. The additional bypass switch helps give it a kick of distortion, but for my playing almost too much. It does make harmonics easier, and when used on a clean setup, makes the guitar noticeably without hurting the cleanliness.

Easy install and sound great in my Jackson Dinky. You will need to do a little soldering on your existing toggle switch and drill a hole for the P2 switch.

Everyone knows the emgs spit out a deadly batch of distortion. The pa2 boost switch allows the emgs to shoot out an extra paralyzing storm Of distorted hi gain fury. Even Mary had a little lamb played through these emgs sounds like a pissed off nuclear fire breathing dragon.

They sound great, but as soon as you flip the gain switch, you're in for a lot of noise...had to turn gain way down to get rid of most of the noise. I honestly don't see the benefit of the gain booster with all that noise. I have a set of Fishman actives on one of my other guitars, and they've got more boost with no noise...So I'd just stick with a regular set of EMG's, like a Zakk Wylde set or anything else without the boost control. It's really not worth even drilling holes for the boost control.

I impressed for the sound of this pickups, Good tone metal for me, and the pa2 adds clear decibels, 100 percent cool, my rga72qtmz is a cannon with tris pickups.
