INCREDIBLE RADIO FOR THE PRICE
Everyone likes to hate on these radios, but you will not find a better radio for the money. We use them at work. The price has allowed us to put one of these in the hands of all our employees and any contractors that are on our site. Are they as durable as a $200-400 radio? Probably not, but our guys tend to treat every radio as if it cost $13. Is it as durable as a $13 radio can be expected to be? Yes.They do have some flaws:They could be louder, but they are only a 1-watt output speaker. That figure may well be slightly exaggerated, or the volume achieved may be due to the use of inefficient speakers. Either way, they can be difficult to hear when in a noisy environment with the radio hanging off your pocket. The battery seems to want to get loose and sloppy which will constantly turn the radio off and on. This seems to be due to how everyone wants to carry the radio hanging off their pants pocket. This also puts the radio in a position of being sat on quite a bit. I have “fixed” this issue by putting a dab of superglue on the edges of the battery and just gluing it to the case. That has completely cured these radios of the loose battery syndrome they were experiencing. If the battery goes dead, they just swap it for a different radio. The cover for the antenna may come off. I have “fixed” this with some silicon squirted in the cover and shoving it back on the antenna. It may have some slight impact on the signal strength, but you would have to have some expensive equipment to even notice. The belt clips are not as durable as you would expect. Or maybe they are what you would expect for the price and knowing how employees treat their radios. In fairness, we have had problems with the belt clips on $400 radios as well. They also seem to be slightly slower at opening up when receiving the CTCSS code than a more expensive radio, so the first part of what someone is saying may be lost. This is easily correct by instructing anyone who uses these radios to push the button, pause a second, then talk. So many of the guys want to push the button and talk as fast as they can with as few words as possible. If you can break them of this habit you will not have any problems with this radio. On the plus side:They are a great value for the money. At this price there is no excuse not to have one of these on each employee. They can easily be programmed with CHIRP.The battery lasts an extremely long time. The claim is about 8 hours. It is much longer if you are not constantly talking. If you are sending short messages every few minutes, it will easily last a 10-hour shift. We have used them on 12-hour shifts with no problems. They are FCC type approved. The output power is in the range of 1-3 watts. Exactly where each radio will measure is questionable. The stated output for these radios is <3 watts. They all fall in that range. You will not notice any difference between a radio outputting 1 watt vs 3 watt. All of them will reach out far enough to communicate on the property and even off the property. The antenna is probably more of the shortfall than the wattage. They hear very well. These radios will receive for quite some distance. They can pick up other HTs for over a mile easily and base stations for 10-30 miles.

Great radio value
Good radios, easily programmed with chirp. Integrated into our system with no issues. Slow to open the squelch, just train to push the ptt take a.breath and then talk. I love the gang charger, it lets me see the radios charging. I noticed the battery charged on the single charger ten placed on the gang charger seems to be discharged then recharged, cycling yo ensure full batteries. Not sure but that's what it looks like its doing.

Great base charging station to have 6 ready-to-go.
Owned plenty of these radios prior, they've proven to be wildly durable for how cheap they are - not that i'd bet my life on one but they've stood up to event abuse more than i'd have ever guessed. The base station here is long overdue, very handy to have 6 at hand and readily charged. Read-up on these, programming them to avoid stepping on illegal frequencies for your geography.

Good for the cost. and Radioddity is a good reseller
Note these are for commercial / Ham operators you must have a license to operate. they can be programmed in both the business and ham band. the radios work great. Downsides, they seem VERY light weight but sturdy. that might be a plus for some but we used them on a construction site and heavier would be better. now the unit I received one of the charging ports was not functioning. I need to use the radios right away so i programmed them and charged them ion the working ports. I contacted Amazon about replacing the defective charger, they just wanted to refund the whole purchase. they sent me to Baofeng support and they sad I needed to contact the seller Radioddity, now Radioddity was VERY helpful and promptly send me a new gang charger. the new one works just fine. so I am going to buy my next set of radios from them.

Can you hear me now? YUP!
Simple 2 way radios (walkies) and NOT Ham radios. Great for events, the group charger is fantastic, and our biggest issue is folks taking them home and not returning them at day's end. We love these and have bought 3 sets and ordering another 2 sets. Great range, clear signal, multiple channels, light, have accessory jacks and come with basic ear piece. Well worth the price!

BF-888S is probably the best value radio out there. Charger works OK.
The BF-888S is such a great little radio for the money. We use these for skiing with the kids and for mountain bike team to keep the coaches in contact with each-other. They do need to be programmed to GMRS frequencies to be used properly.Having the 6 slot charger to drop the radios in when we get home is great. However, I docked a star as I've had issues with a few ports on the charger reliably recognizing and charging the radio. I've contacted customer support and I'll update my review when I hear back (2023-Feb-13).Support sent a new charger immediately, great service! (2023-Feb-21)

It's almost too good to be true, but it is!
I run a monthly event and need to have two-way radios. The area is approximately 40 acres with varying hills up to 40 feet high. No issues with reception. They are plenty loud, come with an earpiece, and the battery lasts all day over 2 days. The gang charger is a must have if you are using multiple radios. I've been using the BF888 radios for over 5 years and they are great!
