Very kid friendly
Pros - Keyboard the right size for her little hands. Strong magnetic connection between the tablet and keyboard. - It’s an Android tablet. Functions a lot like my phone. - Apps installed seem mostly educational and age appropriate. No bloatware that I have noticed. - The free parental controls are great, and very easy to setup. Included in the box was a step-by-step setup guide. Cons - A little slower than I would have liked. Probably OK for my daughter, but too slow for me. - It’s a little heavy. However it does feel durable. We will see. - Like others have said, the charging seems a little slow. - Volume and power buttons are a bit stiff feeling. - In summary, this is not a premium product. However it includes a lot of things I really like, and my daughter loves her first real computer.

Dont buy this
I ordered 2 of these. 1 for each of my kids to use mostly for online classes. They haven't been able to use them because the laptops are pretty much unusable. I attempted setup on the first one only to have it continually power off (even after charging it for several hours). I thought maybe it wasn't charging correctly so tried with 2 other chargers only to not have the problem resolve itself. It wouldn't stay on. In the meantime I had started to set up the other laptop not realizing yet that the first wasn't going to work. So I started up the second one after charging it overnight. Initially it seemed like it might be fine. It showed the battery was completely full. I tried for about 20 minutes to get the family link to set up. It kept gliching and sending me back to the previous screen. In that 20 minutes the battery dropped to 70 percent. I was still unable to get it to set up. I decided to just not use the family link and try to set it up another way. I also restarted it. The whole time the battery was quickly dropping. These laptops are trash. I do not understand the good reviews. I ordered 2 and you would think if they were worth anything at all that at least one of them would work. Nope. Hopefully I don't have an issue with getting a full refund. Im also concerned because some of my daughters set up info is on the one computer and Im unsure how to factory reset it. Take my work for it you can find much, much better for the money. I would also mention the laptop has a weird weight to it. It is heavy for a kids laptop and its size. Way to small for a teenager or adult to use in that way and it doesn't sit up straight because it is so top heavy.

What a deal, what a computer
Just received the new Tanoshi Scholar. It arrived earlier than what Amazon said it would! It's a gift for my nephew and it's the upgrade from the first Tanoshi 2-and-1. I opened it up and started setting it up, as an adult has to set it up, before handing it to the kid/child. This one, the Scholar feels well built. It's heavier, but it feels solid and rugged. It's still lighter than my work laptop. You can't beat the price for a computer that is designed for a kid. The set up was easy; just follow the Quick Start Guide. The buttons are a bit harder to push, like the power and volume. I can see this Scholar is a rugged computer that looks like it could handle some bumps. A big selling point is the parental controls that are free for life. I played around with the parental control app; I liked the easy to use and pre set features. It is pretty cool that the parent has the ability to monitor and turn off the Scholar, from the parent's mobile, whether it is an Android or iPhone. The child has to get permission to download an app from the Google Play Store. During these times, the Scholar is perfect for remote learning. The Scholar has Google apps and preloaded coding and learning apps. I am sure my nephew will enjoy getting this Scholar computer for his schoolwork and for his own learning fun.

Awesome Until It’s Not
We loved the computer when we first got it in May. It was safe for my kid and worked great. It has been three months we have had it and we are now having to replace it. We struggled with it for two weeks before giving up. The screen would randomly go dark and then kick her out of whatever she was doing. When doing her online school work, it would shut down or just stop in the middle of a test. We ended up keeping it plugged in at all times after having to recharge it 3x in an 6-7 hour window. So three months after buying it I am replacing it with something else because it’s not worth all the hassles. I would find something else unless this is to be used sparingly for short times.

Good starter device
I bought this for my 3.5 year old after Samsung decided to end their kids+ application (which bricked the Samsung Kids tablet she had previously). Personally, if I had an older kid, I would get a Windows OS, but for my little one, I wanted to be able to load all the apps she had on her old device while introducing the mouse and keyboard. Pros: it's fast, has plenty of memory, seems pretty durable. Every app I've wanted for her has been compatible, with no running issues. Cons: I wish they would make a rubber case to put on while it's in tablet mode. We are only using it at the desk as a laptop, because I don't at all trust it to be drop proof (because it says right in the description you can break it if it hits the power/volume buttons). A rubber case would make me feel a lot more confident about it. Also, there are quite a few apps that don't recognize the mouse/keyboard configuration and go straight to touchscreen. I wish everything worked without having to use the touchscreen. That's more of an app development issue than with the particular device, but it's something to be aware of if you're planning to use it like a computer more than a tablet. Overall, I'd say this is a solid choice for a younger kid. Having access to the play store is the big draw over something like the fire tablet, and it's a lot more affordable than an ipad.

Great for learning when paired with Hooked on phonics
Great for kids the battery will go quickly when idle if not completely turned off just like every tablet
