Received product very quickly and was packaged very well. Cute design, fun, a bit quirky. Quality good, fair for what they charge. Chose to display the white pendulum with red bird, but love the idea you can change out pendulum and bird colours, or not use the pendulum at all. Recommend you clearly measure the wall space you want to put the clock on, factoring the length of the pendulum. We just renovated our kitchen with grays and white and was not sure the clock was modern enough, but the clean lines work and add a bit of whimsy to the room. Pendulum does make a very soft tick if you stand close to it, and you can adjust the volume of the kukoo sound, or use other bird sounds. The only down side I would say is the doors make a bit of a motorized sound when they open and close for the bird, not a huge deal, but it would be better if they were quiet. Teenagers in the house love it, and it is a good conversation piece when guests are over and the bird pops out. Very happy with purchase.

Beautiful natural sounds of Birds well-made. The clock was very well packaged. The company helped me and they were top people to deal with regarding my clock they didn’t keep me waiting. I am so pleased with my gorgeous clock no matter what I’m doing. I stop listen with a great big grin on my face every time the bird sings. I was so happy when telling my sister she thought that she would like one for her birthday so I’d bought the red one. It’s really lovely and looks lovely in her kitchen. I will definitely deal with them again.

I purchased this clock because I was looking for something battery powered that made 60 bpm metronomic sounds to experiment how it would effect my sleep patterns. Mechanical metronomes used by musicians only run for 45min before needing to have a spring wound up again. I figured a koo koo clock with swinging pendulum would be perfect. Unfortunately, the pendulum action on this clock is completely silent. It moves at 120bpm but I figured I could simply add weight to the pendulum until I reached my desired 60bpm. I didnt expect it to be silent! Because of this I had no real use for the clock and returned it. However, if you're in the market for an adorable German designed clock this one is worth buying. They are designed by a company in Bevaria, Germany. Here are some things to keep in mind.... What materials is this item made of? 1.) The "weights" for the pendulum are made of lightweight wood that is painted. There is a tiny magnet embedded in the groove which causes the wooden block to stay attached to the pendulum swing arm which is made of painted steel. (Please note the swing arm is not anodized....It is painted. Careful not to scratch it as the white paint comes off easily) 2.) The birds feel made of plaster as they have some heft to them. They each have a small magnet embedded at their feet. 3.) All internal clock workings and the mechanical bird perch are made of plastic with plastic gearing. 4.) The bird house itself feels made of solid lightweight wood pieces with a smooth paint finish. The whole assembley feels very light so I cant imagine the wood being MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) as stated in some of the item description. It feels like real wood (possibly poplar or spruce). 5.) The battery bays are marked with the designation UM-2 which is the old designation Japan used for what is now known internationally as the "C" battery. So its possible the clock work mechanisms were manufactured in Japan instead of China, although I dont know that for a certainty, Its just a guess. Instructions? As other buyers have noted, none of the instructions are in english and most of the instruction pamphlets refers to other models of clocks so it can be quite confusing. Honestly I think its easier to understand how it works if you ignore the instruction pamphlet completely. Here are the only 4 options available from left to right - Volume knob - One button sets the chime to Cuckoo - One button sets the chime to "multi-bird" which plays one of 12 bird sounds each hour. The order of birds in this option are shown in the instruction pamphlet. - One button demos the bird chime silently Thats it...Simple right! All the extra birds and pendulum weights can be tossed inside the body of the bird house. Summary: I highly recommend buying this clock if you want a nearly silent wall clock with attractive color scheme and options to control the loudness of the chime.
