How can I clean my brushes?

Accepted Answer

Although all your brushes need a deep cleaning regularly – at least every ten days – brushes for cream and liquid products, such as foundation or concealer, should be spot cleaned more often in order to keep them sanitized and avoid irritated skin or breakouts. 
 
STEP 1 - First, run the brush tip under lukewarm water with the hair pointing downwards to avoid getting water in the handle. 
STEP 2 - Apply a small amount of professional brush soap or mild hair shampoo into your palm. Then using circular motions, massage the soap into the brush until it reaches a rich lather. For natural hair, we recommend adding a drop of conditioner as an extra treatment for marvelously soft brushes.
STEP 3 - Rinse the brush head thoroughly in lukewarm water and carefully squeeze out any excess water until the water runs clear. 
STEP 4 - Dry off the brush hair by swirling it gently in a cloth or towel and shape the hair back to its original silhouette as you go. Lay the brush flat to dry.
 
Keep in mind, your brushes will need a few hours to dry after a deep cleaning, so we recommend washing them in the evening and letting them dry overnight.

Why do I need more than one eyeshadow brush?

Different brush shapes allow different outcomes – which brushes you need all depends on the looks you want to create. Below are some guidelines to help you determine which brush shapes are a good fit for your style:
 
Small, tightly-bound brushes are more detailed, enhance pigment/color, and build intensely and quickly. Use smaller brushes to place colors precisely, like at the inner corner of the eye, the brow bone, or the outer corner. 
 
Brush heads that are longer in their hair length are intended to give a seamless, blended effect. Use larger, fluffier brushes to diffuse and soften colors and to blend areas together. 
 
For blending in particular, it’s always great to have another clean brush to further help the blending process.
