Awesome RV protection!
Used this in the two different park's so far and the price is well worth my piece of mind! Plug it in and it quickly let's you know if it's good power or not.. and then plug the trailer in. Your fully protected from surges and low and high surges with EPO.. Emergency power off.. This unit fully protects your investment... Pair with your smart phone via Bluetooth and you can view exactly how much power is coming into the camper. The APP is simple and well thought out. So far I'm extremely impressed with this unit! Oh and the Pitbull face lights up bright at night can see that glowing face from a long ways off.. It'll be white when all is well and red when it's detected a problem... I can highly recommend this if you want piece of mind! Cheers

Super easy to use, excellent wire fault detection, perfect protection, awesome power monitoring.
Likes: 1. This 30 Amp wire fault detector / power analyzer / RV electrical protector is ridiculously easy to use. Read the instructions, take it out of the box. Turn off the power on the shore station. Plug your rig into the Watchdog, plug the Watchdog into the shore station power outlet, and turn on the shore station power. If the wiring and the power are good, the Watchdog turns white and an internal breaker will close and begin supplying power to your rig. If the power or wiring is bad, the Watchdog turns red and won't supply damaging power to your camper. This i exactly what you need and want. 2. Pair the Watchdog's Bluetooth with your smartphone and discover what your rig's drawing in Watts. Turn everything off in your camper and watch the power consumed drop. With everything off, and power still being consumed, you're viewing your battery charger consuming power, topping off your battery. Record how many Watts are being consumed and start turning on lights, accessories, the refrigerator, even the air conditioner, and watch how much power each of them draws. This one app gives you all the information an expensive power analysis would cost from an RV repair shop. And the information it provides can give you the right knowledge to make decisions about replacing incandescent bulbs with LED's, how much power your electric water heater consumes, and how much power your air conditioner draws. It can help you decide what to turn on and what to leave off so your batteries last longer. You can even determine if you really need a second, or a bigger, generator to run everything you might want. The power consumed app revealed my air conditioner doesn't take nearly as many Watts to start and to run as I feared. That knowledge helped me choose to not spend an additional $1200 on a Companion generator, and I can easily get the job done with a MicroAir Easy Start 364 and the connector kit for less than a third of the cost of a second generator. 3. It even comes with a metal locking plate to help keep a thief from easily walking off with your power protection. Add on your favorite lock and lock the Watchdog to the shore station or to your RV. Dislikes: None. Sorry, but I can't find anything bad to say about it. I've used it for several weeks at home and out at the campground, and it's had no problems--even in the rain. Wait--there's one thing that might be nice to have included with this unit--a rainproof/waterproof connection cover so your 30A cables can't get water in them. That's something to add on separately, which could have come with the Watchdog. But those waterproof coupling boxes are available on Amazon, so it's not like one has to do without that additional peace of mind. I'm 100% happy with this Watchdog. I know it'll protect my RV from faulty shore station wiring, power spikes, and power sags. And that'll keep my vacation trouble free. That's worth a LOT more than I paid for the Watchdog, which was less expensive than other units.

Awesome! Great protection, works well, quality design, and useful for related purposes.
I am a first-time RV owner. The cost of any surge protector is going to be far less than internal electrical repairs of appliances inside the RV. I got this unit for two reasons. First, it not just detects problems, it actively protects against many problems well beyond simple surge; that's not true of some other alternative brands. Second, the surge protection module is replaceable. That's quality design, and customer-focus The app is awesome. I really found it useful to sit in our RV and watch the amps draw in real time. For example the compressor in our A/C cycles on and off according to the thermostat, but the fan is manual and always runs. I found the ability to monitor when the compressor cycled on and off was very useful in quickly fine-tuning the thermostat to ensure the A/C was set properly. I can also see when the hot water heater kicks on, gauge how many amps each appliance draws, and know when I have spare capacity to plug in a particular extra appliance into a 120 volt outlet. One word of caution and one suggestion for improvement. For other customers like me, please note that there are two apps from this vendor with similar names. One has a black dog face with red highlights and one is a red dog face with white highlights. They are for different products and you have to get the right one or the app won't work correctly. As for improvements for the vendor - the illumination when the unit turns on is hard to see in direct bright sunlight. An increase in brightness, or an additional LED to indicate all is well, would be a great improvement.

Excellent EMS
Bought this to use with our travel trailer - won't happen til Spring. However, I tested it at home on the 30Amp receptacle for powering the trailer while in the driveway. Bluetooth works great with Android 12 on a Pixel 4 - also on my wife's Pixel 2 with Android 11. Provides the key information needed for our purpose. Can't comment on the level of protection yet - just hope we have the same results as some other reviewers. Update - Been using this for 3 seasons now with no issues. It kicked out at one park that we visited. We were running an electric heater at the time. I tested the output at the pedestal with my meter - 104 volts and occasionally lower. Reported this to the park manager - they had the power company show up the next day and confirmed my findings. The tech was amazed at the information provided by this unit. They have actually made upgrades to their system since then. As noted in other reviews (hard-wired unit) it will kick out if overloaded. While running A/C, water heater, and fridge - it kicked out when we added the coffee maker. So it does what it is supposed to - manage the electrical supply along with surge protection.

Easy to Use, Easy to Understand
I've only used this unit on 1, multi-day RV'ing weekend, but thus far I am very pleased. The unit seems robust, is easy to use and connect, and unlike many things these days the instructions are easy to read and use. The white light on the Watchdog unit (showing active power with no problems) was actually so bright that at night our friends who were camping next to us used it as a "night light" when having to move around at night. That's something you should be aware of when in a campground with others around, as it was no problem for us but others might not like it.
