Water Gear Natural Rubber Swim Bubble Cap

You can call this a vintage cap because it is what I grew up with. I bought this "real rubber" swimming cap with a chin strap to go on a dream trip. It did not float off my hair or allow a ton of water into the cap to ruin my hair. It fit snug around my face and ears like it's supposed to. I have a big head and medium was the correct size. If you are serious about swimming or water exercises and want to lessen the water intake, then I highly recommend getting one.

I have long thick hair and this cap is SO much more comfortable than latex or silicone ones. My hair does get a little wet but not too bad. I put conditioner on the ends and pull it up to the top of my head. When I get out the hair at my temples and the nape of my neck is wet but the top isn't and the conditioner is still on the ends.

Item was returned because it did not fit.

I really like this cap and have purchased several over the past year, and will buy it again. It is so much more comfortable than the thinner sleeker caps, and way easier to put on and take off. They do wear out eventually, if worn in chlorinated water. The rubber seal on the edges will eventually give way and peel off, and the cap may tear when it gets old. But as long as they last, they work well. I don't expect them to keep the water out completely, so if you want water-tight, this may not be the best cap for you, unless you order a smaller size, that may not be as comfortable. I use the medium size and like it. I feel it does protect my hair somewhat better than no cap at all, and it keeps the hair out of my eyes, etc. I don't bother with the strap, but that might help it be more water-tight than not using the strap.

THE BEST THING I EVER GOT FOR LAPPING! Stays on, water in ears is minimal. No fussing to keep it on head while lapping. My silicone caps would slide constantly and by week 2 ripped. This cap is very durable.

The description stated this was available in different sizes. I bought a small and a medium one as I already had to return one cap because it was too big. Two caps were received, no sizes indicated on them. The were exactly the same size. I did not return them. I gave one to my daughter. Perhaps I will buy a child's cap. These caps come down over my face area to far so as to get in the way of my face mask. I use a snorkel and goggles are not strong enough to hold the snorkel up, so I must use a face mask. I have to put the face mask on 1st to get it to stick to my face and not leak. Then, I put the cap on. Because it comes down over the rubber around my face mask, it breaks the seal of the bathing cap and water gets in. Also, this makes the whole bathing cap slide up on my head. Very disappointing they lied about having different sizes.

I have short bleach blonde hair with pink highlights and chlorinated water will lift my color so I needed a swim cap. I actively swim in the pool, diving, going under and diving for pools toys. I needed a swim cap that would work and not tear my hair up. This cap is darling and super functional. It covers your ears, and it kept my hair dry after hours of swimming and going under. My hair was just a little damp but still dry and it completely protected my color. I highly recommend this cap for short hair.

This product does fit well - but the strap as you try to adjust it and return it to the snap - the rubber breaks from the strap itself - and it does not go back into the snap that is on the cap. Again - the cap fits a ladies head with long hair but certainly if you are trying to keep water out of your ears with the strap - this will not work. It appears with all the caps thus far this is the same issue. I am returning this one and will continue my search for a good cap with better strap features. Back in the 60's this was never a problem - the products then were made very well.

The strap broke when I tried to adjust size 😞 waste of money.
