So Far So Good
Maybe I have not had it and used it for long enough, but everything seems fine with it (I am not sure why all the negative reviews); although, I guess I can't be sure it works until a leak happens (hopefully that never happens!). Like with many detectors, you probably can't know for sure if it is working to detect anything. I have it plugged in down in the basement close to our furnace and gas water heater. It's been a few a few months and so far so good.

Terrible slanted design. Covers both plugs.
It probably (and I really hope so!) works, we did not get any emergencies to test it.But it is a really bad design. Unless you have a luxury of mounting it separately from the wall plug, this monitor takes way too much space on the wall plug.Because of the slanted side it partially covers second plug. The huge downside of this is that when people need to use the plug they have to unplug the monitor and leave it on the counter. And of-course they forget to plug it in. Totally defeating the purpose of the monitor.My previous monitor was squared and could be plugged in with second plug usable.

As everyone has said, this thing eats batteries.A new battery every two months is crazy.Even worse is First Alert saying "There is no problem".Do not buy unless you own a battery factory
