Great performance for a budget APU
Bought this to build my little sister a budget gaming PC. The CPU surprisingly fast for the price and it's very simple to overclock, it runs fairly cool at 4.2 GHz with the CPU cooler that comes in the box. The GPU is alright but don't expect it to run recent games like a dedicated video card...I was going to just use the dedicated GPU but I ended up getting a cheap video card (RX 560) instead and now it's fairly capable gaming PC. If you're going to be doing heavy gaming I'd suggest getting something like an Athlon 870K and a video card unless your on a serious budget. But the integrated GPU isn't terrible by any means if you must use it (Do yourself a favor and increase the amount of video RAM in the BIOS to 2GB if you've got enough RAM in your machine). Overall I'm very pleased with the performance at the price I paid...about $110 isn't bad at all for a quad-core CPU with a built-in GPU.Here's the PC build I installed the A10-7870K into. Runs games pretty well for a gaming rig under $500:AMD A10 7870K APUMSI A88XM MotherboardMSI RX 560 AERO ITX 4GB Video Card16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM1TB Seagate BarraCuda 7200RPM Hard Drive

Includes Fan and Runs Great
I needed to put together a system to replace an older one that had crashed. Nothing too fancy, but I wanted something that would hold its own for a period of time and not let technology make it obsolete too fast. I was not too indepth or technical about shopping. I wanted fast, up to date and I wanted AMD.This came with a colling solution so it saved me time looking up a heat sink and fan that would work with my processor. It all went together easily and took to the OS (Win 7) very well. The MOBO I got was ASUS ATX DDR3 2400 Motherboards A88X-Pro. I used the existing box, power supply and drives. I wiped the drive and re-partitioned and re-formatted.I have no interest or plans to overclock, but it is right there in the software . They make it real easy.Been running it a month and I'm very satisfied.

bargain priced power workstation
If you have the necessary system-building skills, this APU installs without difficulty and works like a charm. Good base for a powerful workstation at a bargain price.Mine runs Windows 10 beautifully on an Asus A88X pro mb. The onchip 7870 graphics is used in tandem with a Radeon R9 280 to drive two Dell 4k displays. (Wow!) System is overclocked using the Asus tuner in BIOS to 4.2 GHz. Installed without a hiccup, but I've been through several BIOS revisions already and know how to use the Secure Boot/Compatability module, also in BIOS, for EFI and Windows licensing keys. A well-designed main board with frequent BIOS revisions is a must - don't choose something on the low end and expect excellent performance.

Cooler Fan Burnt Out
It's okay I guess. Seems a bit under-powered compared to Phenom II X4 945. I bought this in June and today my CPU fan went out. It was working fine. I turned it off to replace a splitter cable on my rear fans and when I turned it back on it smoked my cooler fan. I could smell it and also got a CPU fan error from my bios.

Awesome AMD APU processor
Awesome AMD APU processor, superb graphic and sound, the only issue is the supplied CPU Cooler doesn't fit my Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN-WIFI ITX motherboard due to the Memory Modules slot clearance
