TRADITIONAL MINSTREL DESIGN, EXOTIC WOOD...PLAIN PRICE. Pea Patch Minstrel Style Bones are perfect for thrifty living-history minstrel band performers, Civil War reenactors or any bones connoisseur on a budget. SOLID EBONY: Ebony was the wood of choice for Mister Bones during the minstrel era. It is one of the world's hardest woods. Ebony is a dense resonant wood that holds a reputation among woodcrafters as a saw buster. In 1897 you could buy a set of four 7" ebony bones for thirty-five cents from the Sears, Roebuck & Co. catalog. Living history performers who do Minstrel era and Civil War gigs should choose ebony minstrel-style bones for the historically accurate design. You will appreciate the sharp powerful tone that cuts through the clamor of festival crowds - and so will curious onlookers! HISTORICALLY ACCURATE DESIGN: The most popular woods during the American Minstrel Era were ebony and rosewood. Now you can treat yourself to rare budget-priced rhythm bones made from exotic ebony. The design is patterned after vintage Percy Danforth minstrel style bones made by the late master woodcrafter, Ray Schairer (1922 - 2011). WHY CHOOSE THESE BONES: If you want historically accurate minstrel style bones that are slim and trim and easy to grip, ideal for small or medium hands, professionally handcrafted one at a time from exotic hardwood and yours at a budget price, then Narrow Pea Patch Minstrel-style Ebony Bones are for you. TECHNICAL SPECS (± 1/16"): Length: 7-1/2" (19.0 cm), Width: 1" (2.54 cm), Thickness: 3/8" (0.95 cm)

Its all about the bones
I am a guitar player of 40 years and consider myself an average player (except in Texas where "everybody" is a better picker than me) so I have developed some sense of rhythm over the years which was helpful with my NEW found love of the Bones. I think I got lucky with these fine ebony bones because I really was uneducated on how sophisticate the nature of the woods, maker, and size matters. With all that said I strongly urge you to go to Bone Dry Musics sight and take in the wealth of info. there. I have ordered a pair of boxwood bones to have something to compare. "Stay Loose"

Exceeded my beginner expectations!
Great beginner set. My spouse and I have played at least an hour per day the last few days. These will always go camping and hiking with us from now on. Will be ordering a few more pair of THESE SPECIFIC BONES!

Purchased as a gift, and they were beautiful upon arrival! They play well, and the larger size was just right for the intended receiver! Thanks!

Simply the best.
These are beautiful, period correct bones. Well worth the price. Bone Dry has my business from now on. I have a rosewood pair on order already. I wish they would replenish their stock of natural bone!
