Good electric pressure washer from Karcher
Read a lot of reviews about pressure washers: different makes, models, types etc. And finally decided to stop on Karcher. I know that chinese analogs with same specs are cheaper: sun joes, greenworks etc. And somewhere has better specs but I saw a lot of reviews on YouTube where complained about real values and quality. So I’ve got k5.740 and here my review. Overall quality: Many questions here where it was made. It made in China. But I wouldn’t say that’s bad. The Apple makes all its stuff in China as well so it’s just what quality standards companies use for production. When I opened the box everything inside has been packed very well. No any weird cheap plastic smells or leaks (oils or lubricants). Assembling hints: - use silicon spray for connectors what has rubber rings (pressure hoses). It prevents any damage and leaks then. And it will be easier to assemble. Assemble is pretty straight forward, there is nothing hard. If you’d like to use extension cord - please use at least 14/3 gauge cord. It says: motor needs 15 Amp. So I’ve found 50’ cord at HomeDepot with 15amp max. First use: When you connect water hose DO NOT ON washer!! Just allow water to come out of the gun by regular water pressure. It will remove all air from pump and hoses. After 10-15 seconds you can power on washer. Using: I was really impressed how powerful it is. I cleaned my deck in 20 minutes I think. Please check my pics and video. And another one thing: it’s soooo quiet!! I’d think my neighbors happy by this fact as well. :)) Motor has automatic start/stop function but if I fill that I need pause more than one minute I prefer to power off it and drop the pressure. When I ready to continue - just power on it again. Overall thoughts: Pros: high quality easy to use good power water consumption quiet motor Cos plastic wheels, I’d prefer if they’d be with rubber coat soap function is not good. I’ve ordered external foam cannon a bit heavy for my wife :))

Nice electric power washer
Well first off I actually have a gas powered pressure washer and I have the Karcher electric power washer. The gasoline power washer is way more powerful than the electric power washer. But it requires me to run the engine more often because of the ethanol additive which can gum up your carburetor. So it’s kinda of a pain. However with the electric power washer it’s almost as powerful, but then you don’t have to worry about getting gasoline and running the motor frequently so that it doesn’t gum up. The electric power washer is NICE. One thing I want to mention is the spray wand is kinda sensitive, you have to be careful with the spray tip. I actually broke my spray tip, and I had to order a new one and then it worked perfectly. The only downside to this power washer is the hose, it can be a little temperamental. And sometimes getting the hose fitting to go in the spray wand can be a difficult sometimes. You just have to look in the spray wand and then turn the hose fitting to get it to go in. Other than that it works great. I used it to power wash my white plastic fence. Our homeowners association requires everyone to install white plastic fence in their backyard and occasionally you have to power wash it. I recommend getting the spray tip canister. Sold separately. It’s like 27 dollars or something. It’s not too expensive. And they sell a detergent solution for the spray canister. You only need to put a small amount of that stuff and then fill it up the rest of the way with water. Shake it a little and spray it on your car. Works great. I don’t really have any complaints about it, except the hose. Other than that it works great

Proprietary Parts are Very Expensive and 'Out of Stock'. Poor Customer Support.
At first the Kärcher K5 seemed like a good Power washer. Sure, there were some plastic parts that seemed cheap and flimsy like the garden hose quick connect, but I figured I could always get a third party aftermarket replacement when it breaks. Well that may be the case for the garden hose quick connect, but the pressure hose is another story. Somewhere a few years ago Kärcher began using a proprietary style quick connect on many of their consumer grade pressure washers. The K5 is one of them. Since it is non-standard in the industry there are few (if any) third party accessories compatible with this series of Kärcher Pressure washers, leaving you solely at the mercy of Kärcher for any accessory that attaches to the Pressure washer hose, like a replacement or an extension for the existing 25’ hose. (which they are presently ‘out of stock’ and do not know when it will be available). After 30+ minutes w/ Kärcher Customer Service, it was clear that they had no clue, so I asked to speak to Technical Support. She said that was not possible and suggested I call a local Kärcher authorized repair service. She transferred me to Warranty Support and after another 5-10 minutes on hold they gave me a couple of numbers for ‘Authorized Service Centers’ near me. They were both about 40 miles away, but that’s OK, `cause all II need is advice. Well the first shop (a lawnmower repair shop) had no clue as to the problem I was experiencing as they had never seen a newer model Kärcher w/ this kind of quick connect. The next one (another lawnmower shop) told me that the ‘Pressure Washer’ guy didn’t work on Fridays and to call back Tuesday or Wednesday. So not only are you out of luck on the out of stock part, when it does arrive get ready to pay over twice the price that you would otherwise pay for a suitable replacement elsewhere. And who knows when that will be? Just park the Kärcher K5 in the garage and put your thumb on the garden hose like you did before you gave Kärcher $250 or so. I would love to just return the K5 and move on to something less proprietary, but I'm 2 weeks outside of the Amazon return window. :-(

Great company, excellent products
Third Karcher product. First two, a small pressure washer and a floor steam cleaner were as good as could be expected. Great German engineering and substantial build quality. I read the p.w. was built in Italy, but the label on the bottom says, as you would expect, made in China. The pressure is good, the wands are easy to use, simply connect the hose, turn on the water, relieve pressure and turn on and begin work. Came with TWO wands, a high pressure wand and an adjustable pressure wand. Both work very well, but the high pressure wand may be TOO powerful. That said, the unit came with the plastic front foot stabilizer plate cracked and then it promptly broke and fell off. I called Karcher and they sent me a replacement part, but then there was no way to replace it. So I called again, and much to my surprise Karcher offered free replacement of the entire P.W. Amazing. This is one of several companies who back up their products and I will continue to buy them for their quality, value and customer support.

Best Electric Pressure Washer Ever . . .
To begin with, it's Bill that uses this piece of equipment, not Emily. This is the 4th electric pressure washer I have owned over the last 15-20 years and is the best by a wide margin. I have burned up the others doing my annual spring cleaning of a used-brick patio and courtyard where very stubborn stains, moss and dirt build up over the winter. Extraordinarily quiet due to its water-cooled motor, the powerful Karcher K5 Premium did the job like a hot knife through butter in about a third of the time it historically has taken with my previous pressure washers. (Use caution on wood or other soft surfaces.) Most impressive is Karcher's customer service. I experienced some erratic performance with the equipment. After a two-day email conversation, Karcher determined that the pump may be defective in some way. Their solution? They shipped me a new unit without even asking me to return the old one -- they just asked that I dispose of the defective one (recycle, if possible). I had a replacement K5 within a week of my initial contact. Sure; it would have been better if the first one delivered worked properly. But standing behind their product as they did says volumes about the company's commitment to quality and service.

Nice Pressure washer...
Be sure you keep your expectations realistic. I replaced my 10+ year old 2100psi 2GPM gasoline pressure washer with this 2000psi 1.4GPM Karcher K5 expecting it to be similar in power. It's not. They are up front that it's 0.6 gallons per minute less. My fault for not grasping how much less that really is...the GPM is what really counts. Don't get me wrong, it works really nice for washing the cars with the variable nozzle, and the turbo nozzle is nice too for blowing the dirt off the walkway. I just cant imagine it doing very well with things like cleaning the algae off the siding on the north end of my house and tougher stuff like that. The good part though... is I don't have to worry about accidentally harming the finish on my cars softer plastic bits and I'm not worried about my wife being able to use it with ease. It is really nice, and Electric is so easy .. no pulling the cord 5-10 times, no gas cans, no oil changes, no treating fuel for the winter... just hook up the hose, plug in the power, and wash. This is a really nice, feature rich unit that feels high quality. It would have been nice if they provided a hose that isn't so stiff...It's not the plastic junk that some come with, but it's also not the more flexible stuff like expensive units. It doesn't come off the reel easy, and as the curves stay in it when its not taught, you gotta be careful around the car as it doesn't just lay on the ground and can spring up and hit the car while you are moving around. Still ok... just a gripe I have. I do recommend this unit for general home use and car washing.

O
I find this underpowered and have never gotten the soap dispenser to work. I did not pay enough attention to the description as it is obvious it's underpowered. I wonder about the picture showing the rotary cleaner head functioning but neither of my two heads work at all. The soap dispenser is so simple in function but I guess I'm even more simple as it JUST WON'T WORK!!! My last Karcher simply because of lack of power. Good quality, though. I usually pay close attention to product reviews but now see lots of reviews done through Vinewhatever. Completely discount those reviews. Probably go back to an ic model, love to find a diesel.

Great Pressure Washer
I'll start with the bad just to get it out there. The assembly instructions, especially for a seasoned mechanic, were a little tricky. Only because the illustrations were a little hard to see where parts were going on and how. Process of elimination and years of putting things together helped me, but could be challenging for others. Now the positives. The accessories all have a place to go on this unit. The two changeable wands, the hose adapter, and the soap tank, all stay with the pressure washer making it less likely you'll misplace something. The wheels make it very easy to move as it is a little heavier than you'd thing by just looking at it. The hose reel makes storing very easy. Compared to the other Karcher pressure washer I had long ago, the addition of a power light on the GFI is hugely helpful. Makes it very easy to see if the GFI is supplying power or not without constantly pressing the test and reset button, trying to hear the click to see if it is on. The soap dispenser on this unit actually works as expected. Put the soap in the back, set the pressure to low/soft, adjust the flow rate of the soap, and you're set. Works perfectly!

Great value
First time using a Karcher pressure washer, very impressed. Plenty of power for what I need it for and accessories are reasonable.

Like the product despite faulty hose - horrible customer service
It's a decent product. Quiet and great for washing cars - that the good. The bad - hose split 3 months in. Because of covid I delayed my warrantee as I had troubles contacting anyone via Amazon. Eventually went directly to Karcher. First phone call was great, said they were replacing the whole unit because they didn't have replacement hoses. They sent me the paperwork and I sent the paperwork back - 3 days later they said they would not replace the unit. Called today to find out what the issue was. They said they wouldn't replace the hose but I could buy one - which is not in stock. So now I have a paper weight sitting in my garage - good thing I didn't take the old machine to a recycling facility as "STRONGLY RECOMMENED" on the paperwork they sent me to replace the whole unit. Not to mention most of the attachments fall off and the hose reel is useless as I sure this was the cause of the damage to the hose.

Buen producto
Es tal cual se muestra en las fotos, con dos lanzas intercambiables, muy fácil de ensamblar, es algo pesada pero tiene muy buena potencia, el accesorio para enrollar la manguera es muy útil y práctico, llego en el tiempo indicado.
