Patriot Memory P300 M.2 PCIe Gen 3x4 2TB Low-Power Consumption SSD - P300P2TBM28

I got this for a Prodesk G3 Mini that some one gave me it wasnt the fastest pc in the world but swapping the hard drive for this the boot speed went down to a couple fo seconds and over all using the pc is just a whole lot nicer and snappier.

Used it on an acer Leopard laptop which had a standard m.2 ssd at 500mbs, I installed thus and got 1800mbs, made the laptop much better

used to keep windows and commonly played vr games on and its really fast. steamvr launches within a couple seconds apposed to my sata ssds taking a while longer. vrchat avatars also load near instantly, again in opposition to the sata ssd.

Do check that your system is compatible with NVMe. Turns out I needed a SATA instead, so I've had to return the item. My mistake entirely, but make sure you check before you buy a M.2 drive.

So far seems to be working well, I am only using it as cache on my home NAS (DS420+) (so I can't say much about performance), great value and really good delivery speed, nice to see a lower-end product having such a good seller. I will see how this goes in a while since I am more interested in reliably of the drive as it is in a always on server (24/7 operation).

These types of drives are very compact and can in theory offer very fast speeds compared to even normal 2.5" ssd. This is clearly a budget drive but i was disapointed with its performance. I achieved acceptable speeds for read but writes were no better than my Adata 2.5" ssd.Bench marks don't always show the real story because performance drops of very quicky. if you are writing lots af data you will want to avoid this drive as it slows down very quickly to very poor write speed performance. This problem was not heat related as i used a heatsink on the device and ran tests immediately after powering on.

I suppose I should've seen this coming with an NVMe SSD for less than a meal at Nando's but alas. After installing Windows onto this SSD and doing a few updates it now has kicked the bucket and isn't showing in the BIOS anymore. If I were you I'd spend a fiver more and go for a reputable brand like Crucial or Samsung
