Finally Found the Perfect Garlic Press
I’ve been using this garlic press for over 3 months, and it’s easily the best one I’ve tried. I cook with fresh garlic almost daily, and this tool makes the process so much easier. It’s simple to use, effortless to clean, and made of high-quality, durable steel that feels very solid in hand. After testing several other options, this one stands out as the most reliable. If you’re considering it—just go for it!

Liked it so much I bought another one!
I just looked at some of the other reviews...... I purchased mine in July 2018 and the one I received was the same high quality as the one I purchased at a store years ago. Not sure which seller is sending out the knockoff versions, but I purchased the one shipped direct from Amazon with no problems.. Whenever I need to use this, it is always in the dishwasher because I use it so much. So I purchased another one. I love this and guests always comment that they are going to buy one after seeing me use it. It is simple and easy to clean, and does the job extremely quickly with no fuss. I can rapidly crush multiple garlic cloves by just smashing them down on my cutting board with this rocker - unlike the previous lever type crusher I had, where you would have to open, insert the clove, crush with the lever and repeat. The Joseph Joseph rocker allows you to smoosh to your hearts content. The only improvement I would make is maybe making the metal a bit thinner, as it is an extremely sturdy piece of equipment ( maybe the thickness is necessary so the rocker is sturdy enough) so that the garlic doesnt get stock in the holes so easily. However, a quick sharp tap on the cutting board usually disloges 99% percent of it, and even with the old lever type crushers, some garlic would get stuck in the holes with no easy way of tapping to remove it. So this one still wins, hands down. Plus it will last a lifetime! You would need to drive a car over this to bend it! So all round this is the best crusher I have used, and it makes a great gift too! Reviewing is my way of supporting great products and helping people filter out all the crap out there :)

Doesn’t replace garlic press
I like this garlic - ummm what to call it - masher. It’s easy to use & very sturdy. It doesn’t, however, replace my garlic press. My garlic press essentially minces or micropanes garlic into tiny, tiny pieces. This item is much closer to a small dice. It’s great for times I need to dice garlic for cooking but it leaves the pieces too large (& thus too potent) to add to a dressing or an uncooked sauce. Overall it’s a nice addition to my kitchen but it’s not a replacement for my garlic press. It is easy to clean. I do find it difficult to get all the garlic “out” of the metal & into a bowl sometimes.

Less hassle to use than a garlic press
Love this kitchen tool! I find it much simpler to use than a garlic press — way less fussing around to efficiently crank out multiple cloves of minced garlic. You can just mash out clove after clove until the top fills with the minced garlic then neatly scoop it into your prep dish with a spoon. (I don't understand what another reviewer was talking about when he said it's not very good for large quantities — "... it gets pretty messy." Huh??? For me, this works better for large quantities of garlic than anything else I've used, including just a good ol' chef knife. I've had no problems with it "getting messy".) The working part of this tool is flatter and more accessible, so it's easier to clean than a typical garlic press. If it takes any more than just a forceful rinse to clean out all the holes, I keep a toothbrush near the kitchen sink to give it a quick scrub and that's usually all it takes. It also helps to rinse it out right after being used instead of letting it sit for a spell before cleaning. Garlic juice becomes sticky when it dries. However, note that this tool will produce more of a minced garlic, rather than crushed/mashed garlic. Usually, I prefer minced, but some of my recipes call for really well-mashed garlic, so I still keep a garlic press handy, but the vast majority of the time, I'll be using this little kitchen gem. I'll probably be ordering more to give as Christmas gifts.

Easy to use-- great design & sturdy construction
I love the simple sturdy design and lack of multiple parts. Though cleaning is not perfect because some garlic does get stuck, you can scrape off the back and rock the remaining garlic so as to not have any waste. Also, you can hit it on the edge on your pot and remove any remaining parts of the garlic. Well made-- should last a lifetime.

It does the job, but not as easy as I expected
I bought this because I like and use garlic often. My existing press is a very high quality, plier like, press and works well. But it is nit easy to clean. Thus one is easier to clean (but you still need a small brush to get the garlic out of the holes). But actually using it is kind of a pain in the ass. 1) the clove often slides out from under the press so you often have to cut the clove in half and out the cut side down on the cutting board so it doesent slide out. 2) you have to rock the tool in all directions which is not as easy as it sounds because rocking in the ‘narrow’ side if the tool dies not offer much leverage. 3) it dies not consistently give as fine a grind as my plier type tool. 4) you must use it against a cutting board. This is not a major issue for me as I am using a cutting board most of the time. But occasionally I add some more garlic to a pot of slow cooking sauce that is simmering. While it was simmering I usually clean up the kitchen and have already cleaned the cutting board. Overall, I find I can get results as good as this tool by just smashing a few cloves with the flat side of the knife and then just dicing up the smashed pile with my knife and adding it to the recipe. If I need a fine grind, or need to garlic after Ive cleaned up the kitchen I still use my plier type tool. This tool is quite sturdy and much easier to clean, but I would not buy it again especially for $20

I've tried garlic presses in the past and found them fiddly, difficult to clean and (in one case) simply too flimsy to do the job properly. But this one is excellent! Easy to use. Easy to clean. Strong enough to do the job properly, without risk of slipping or of the handles being bent out of shape. Definitely recommended. I would give it more than 5 stars, if I could!

I’ve been cooking dinners pretty much daily for 9 months already and all of my recipes require garlic. I was tired of chopping it myself and dealing with the strong odour on my fingers, I had a traditional garlic crasher too but it would waste too much garlic and crashed it too small. This one is perfect for everyday recipes: + 1. It crashes all garlic into small ovals which are pretty much the size of chopped garlic (not too small or large). 2. It is super easy to clean, just like the picture shows. Nothing gets stuck in it. 3. It is from stainless steel and looks like a good quality. I’ve been using it daily for a couple of months and it looks like it’s really durable. - 1. It does require you to apply a medium level of pressure to crash the garlic. So, for instance, if you have some sort of a wrist injury preventing you from applying force, it may be challenging. Also, my 6 yo child couldn’t apply enough pressure to do this. However, this should not be a problem for an average adult.

It's a great tool and well-built. It's especially good for mincing a lot of garlic at once. I find it a bit hard to clean the holes which get clogged up with every use. I generally use a knife for cleaning it - wish there was a tool to help.
