I personally had red highlights in my natural color brown hair. I have been white for some time and as aq result, I color my hair, Perhaps the answer is to leave the color on for a minimum time.

You mix both bottles, shake, apply. Wait 5 minutes and rinse. It's the best tuff that I can't find anywhere else. I'm 71 and it makes me look 50! Love it!

If you haven’t washed your hair for 3 or more days I would suggest to wash it first. I find that the color attaches better if the hair is clean. Regarding your question of using the product again: That is not possible once it has been mixed. Perhaps you can find a separate container and only mix what you will use. I’ve never tried that for the hair but I always do that for my beard. The trick is to not mix the activator in. I hope this helps.
