Review: The Splendid Red Engine He Always Was - During my middle school years I was moving away from the classic Thomas toy range, TrackMaster and began collecting the Bachmann range at that point. I originally had the first version of James produced from 2002 to 2015, and while he was a great runner, there was a ton of inaccurate features that gave him a very poor design that didn't resemble the way he looked in the original TV series of Thomas and Friends. So thankful that Bachmann decided to give him a much needed updated cosmetic change starting in 2017, as this new model of James looks absolutely amazing. Minute I took him out the packaging he was very smooth, had no problems, motor is very quiet, hardly makes any noise.

**Q: What size is an HO train in terms of inches or feet tall or length?**
A: Hi Kellie an HO loco (Bachmann Thomas Etc) will run on OO track and there is not a great deal of difference in size between the two i have purchased the Bachmann Thomas and friends locos for my Grandson no problems at all  .

**Q: I am planning to buy James. However will he be damaged in any way if I decide to physically push him (i.e. play with him like wooden trains)?**
A: Yes. You can damage the coupling rods as well as the pick-ups and possiblly the wheels thenselves because he's not a O scale train like lionel or mth model trains where in which the locomotives' wheels can still turn even if there's no power on the track. James is HO scale and the wheels do not turn if they are not on metal electrically powered tracks.

A: The locos I bought are HO gauge which fit Hornby and bachmann track there is also a G scale Thomas and friends this is a very large s

**Q: is it able to make steam to make it more realistic**
A: This particular model of bachmann trains does NOT make steam. The eyes move and the drive wheels are pretty detailed.
