While I like this item, it is unbelievably cheaply made for the price. The gingerbread house is made of a CHEAP thin plastic which I seriously doubt will stand the test of time and will start cracking and crumbling I have no doubt after a few years. The glitter on this house rubs off if you barely touch it (I exposed the plastic in the back of the roof just by lifting it out of the box even if I was extremely cautious and gentle. While the concept of this designed Christmas set is nice, when it comes to materials used it is a MAJOR disappointment. I would have expected BETTER from Kurt S. Adler collection... but if you get something 'Made in China,' you get something cheaply made not what you pay for !

What a lovely item. Have not tried it with lights yet, but it is soo cute. Looking forward to have him out for display during christmas.
