The urinal is designed to hang on a hospital bedrail but it also works on many/most normal bedrails. In that context it has proved reassuring and practical to have available. It would also be suitable for travelling, camping, or any situation where access to a toilet is limited or uncertain. We have used similar products in the past that were fitted with a clip on lid. While these were slightly quicker and more convenient to remove and refit, they were not waterproof if laid on their side or accidentally knocked over. This version uses a screw lid instead. Although it takes a couple of seconds longer to open, it is completely watertight when fully closed, which more than compensates for the small reduction in speed. The screw thread itself is not overly long, so only one full turn is needed to open or close it, unlike some designs that require several turns and can feel fiddly. In terms of build quality, the bottle feels well made and durable. The plastic is rigid enough to inspire confidence that it will cope with everyday handling, including general knocks or minor drops. The lid, tag, and retaining ring around the neck are moulded as a single continuous piece, which makes it unlikely that any part will break off prematurely.
