What I can comment on is that this shampoo has nearly clinical-strength Ketoconazole in it, which is very good for your hair and scalp. But I personally wouldn't use it more than 3-4 times a week (I use it 1 - 2 times a week) because it's a fairly strong amount. Also the 1% coal tar... both of these have virtually eliminated any eczema and dandruff that I had. Also, in past research, it seemed like other people have also lost hair (initially) when using some hair care products. Could it be that the dead or dying hair strands are sloughed off for new hair growth? I really don't know. But I can say, based on my personal use, this shampoo (in particular) is one of the best, most complete shampoos I've ever used. And I will personally continue to buy and use this wonderful product. I am still not sure I am growing any new hair, but this has definitely stopped my hair from coming out in clumps. I highly recommend giving this product a try. It may not work for everyone, but it certainly has for me. To anyone struggling with hair loss, my heart goes out to you. I hope this helps you as much as it has helped me. Ongoing review (Part 2) I am super excited to share this update! I used the product for the 3rd time tonight and was shocked at how little hair collected in the drain and came out in my brush!!!! I have been having to clean out the drain 3 times and my brush would be completely full. But tonight, I had a less than normal amount of hair in the drain and only had to clean it out at the end of my shower. When I brushed my hair, 3 hairs came out!!! Three! Original Post: I just bought this product and plan on doing an ongoing review. If I posted a picture, all I would have right now is one of the two bottle sitting in the corner of my tub, so I shall wait until later. My issue: Since summer, my hair has begun to fall out. Some of it is inherited balding, I am sure. There is also the stress of the year, breaking, and not taking care of my hair as I should over the last year. As a result, my used to be super thick hair is now barely able to stay up in a clip, it has thinned so much. It is especially thin on the sides and along my part, but there are patches missing all over. My review: I used the products for the first time last night. Positives: I loved the way my hair felt afterward! Even while washing it and putting the conditioner through my hair it seemed to have a good feel in my hair almost like it thickened the individual strands. Today, I still love the way my hair feels. It has a good "clean" feel, and the strands still have a thicker feel to them. Negative: The smell is not my favorite, but it was not a turn off to the point where I did not want to use the product and I did not notice it within a few moments. Hubby said he didn't notice any "smell" except just clean. Considering how much I like the way my hair feels and looks, I can stand the slightly unpleasant smell, especially since it does not linger.
