It blocks light really well. However, it isn't suitable for side sleepers like me. The padding around the eye area is quite bulky, and it becomes uncomfortable and even painful when sleeping on your side

I bought this for my adult daughter who is heading off to dorm life. She’s a light sleeper like me (light, movement and sound wake us both up). I knew I needed to get her a sleep mask so she could continue to sleep even when roommates open the blinds or are moving around. I also purchased earplugs for her on Amazon (you can check out my other reviews if interested). This sleep mask has been clutch for my daughter. She said that she had to figure out the exact fit (tightness) for it to work right for her, but once she went through that trial and error, it has worked amazingly well. The mask blocks light, doesn’t put too much pressure on her eyes, stays in place, is soft and comfortable. It is easy to adjust and seems like it will be durable (only time will tell for sure). If you or a loved one are heading off to college or on a mission, getting adequate sleep is important. This mask can comfortably block light and help you get the rest you need.

Purchased two, one for me and one for my girlfriend, since a lot of streetlight shines through our city windows into our loft bedroom. They have made all of the difference in our sleep quality and are even better than we expected. The material is super lightweight, very cushiony, and really soft in texture. I barely notice when it’s on and it’s so comfortable to sleep in. The strap is adjustable and doesn’t dig into my head. My favorite part about the mask is that it is contoured well for your face. My nose is larger so the tiniest bit of light does come in from the bottom, but the amount that gets blocked out is worth it. My girlfriend has a smaller nose/bridge, so she doesn’t experience any light shining in at all. Additionally, the indentations for your eyes on the inside make these so comfortable! Being able to actually open my eyes when I wake without my eyelids brushing up against material or having the mask press against my eyeballs is the most brilliant part of this mask! So much better than any others we’ve owned in the past. The only change we’d like to see is in the color of the fabric, though that doesn’t matter a whole lot. We’d prefer our masks in black instead of grey, but ordered these since they’re the newest generation of this product. Even with the lighter color and a product caution to not use skincare that could mark the material, my girlfriend hasn’t noticed any transfer of her skincare (including face oils) onto her mask. We would definitely purchase again!

My wife teased me when I told her what I had bought, now she uses them more than I do. Great blindfold, comfortable and blocks out light so well that I am cautious wearing them without an alarm clock in the morning.
