The use of a gate belt like this is like this is well worth the price. When a caregiver uses this gate belt it allows them to provide additional support early to prevent a fall and potential injury. If the patient has a hard fall it can minimize the impact and minimize injury. If someone falls and can not get up on their own, it is a valuable tool to assist them in getting up. Caution for caregivers - If you are there to assist someone getting up after falling, get additional help, don't risk throwing out your back or similar injury to yourself. While a gate belt always helps, the chances are you will need additional people to help to prevent injury to everyone. CLUE: When the caregiver uses the gate belt, insert your hand under the belt - grasping from the bottom - up.
