The foreword by internationally celebrated Dr Gowri Motha, creator of the Gentle Birth Method, reinforces the message that pregnancy and childbirth is a positive experience to cherish and enjoy.

Cheers to your health
Very cool. Ease your back pain. Wife wished she could have done more. Just because you buy the book doesn't mean your body will approve.

A good yoga guide for beginners
The book has a spiritual feel to it that is truly inspiring. Some useful tips on asanas that are particularly beneficial for pregnancy are presented, but sadly the one element that would have made this book a real treasure is missing: a guide to a sequenced practice. The single asanas by themselves are useful, but a prescribed practice from beginning to end would have been invaluable. Advanced practitioners will be a little disappointed.

Great Prenatal Yoga Book!
Being a prenatal yoga instructor for over ten years in South Florida, I've seen a lot of prenatal yoga books and DVDs. This is a wonderful book that's easy to apply at home during your pregnancy. It's the first time I've seen a pregnancy yoga book organize the yoga exercises depending on your energy level. And it's fantastic! Yes! This is what we all need - a book that meets you where you are instead of trying to fit you into a sequence that you may or may not be ready for that day. The format is perfect for pregnant women who are new to yoga or don't have a lot of experience with yoga.To break it down, each section starts with simple affirmations. Sprinkled throughout the book are inspiring birth stories that are easy to relate to. All of the instruction in the book, from the breathing exercises to the yoga poses is excellent and easy to get. You don't need to run out and buy a million props to be able to do the yoga in this book. The authors explain how to use things you have at home to help you do the poses, like a chair or pillows. The authors also give modifications and poses for common pregnancy problems. The graphics in this book are really nice and calming. There are numerous breathing exercises that are explained in an easy to understand manner but not so many that you are overwhelmed with which one to pick. There are also several meditations that are easy to practice. All in all, this is a book that is exactly what most pregnant women need. It's simple to understand, simple to practice, and inspiring at the same time.I loved the book, but I would consider the DVD that comes with it as "supplemental" rather than one that's going to be a mainstay of your prenatal yoga practice. There is no menu to choose which section you want to go to or to turn off the voice instruction and just practice with the background music. You basically have to play the whole thing through or manually fast forward to the section you want. Even then, I would imagine the voice instruction would get annoying after more than a couple of times. The instruction sounds a little fast paced rather than peaceful, but that may just be my reaction to it. I would use the DVD to get an idea of a full practice and then mainly rely on the super great book.

Excellent resource for moms-to-be!
Pregnancy Health Yoga by Tara Lee & Mary Atwood is an excellent resource for moms-to-be who would like to incorporate yoga breathing, stretching, and strengthening into their pregnancies.I've practiced yoga for years, so I knew the breathing techniques and poses in the book well, but it was helpful to see them placed in the context of pregnancy, especially by trimester and divided into which can help with common pregnancy issues ranging from heartburn to lower back pain. The photos accompanying the poses are easy to understand for even beginners, and the explanations are both thorough and soothing. I think it would be difficult to be stressed about pregnancy and birth after reading even a few passages of this book.I especially love the affirmations with each chapter (I've written them on notecards so I have them handy) and the brief birth stories add a nice personal touch as well.Overall, I couldn't recommend this book more to anyone interested in yoga in pregnancy; I look forward to referring to Pregnancy Health Yoga throughout the rest of my pregnancy (I'm six months along as I write this) and then after birth, as it also offers poses and advice for the post-partum period as well.

Get Ready for Birth and Baby with Prenatal Yoga Health
After more than a decade teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga I have not found a more complete and user friendly guide than Pregnancy Health Yoga. After baby there is a small postnatal section in the back of the book. It also comes with a 30 minute supplemental restorative yoga DVD that follows the outline provided by the book. You can use this to help you better visualize what the book outlines, or to prep you for your first prenatal yoga class. Had I not been a yoga instructor during all three of my pregnancies I would have definitely enjoyed a book such as this, it even contains brief "birth stories" in the margins.Lee and Attwood have created this accessible guide and DVD of key practices that takes moms-to-be through every stage of pregnancy, birth, and beyond. They explain breath work and provide guided meditations and visualizations; illustrated step-by-step routines; a directory of postures that target common pregnancy-related ailments; and exercises to get back in shape after giving birth. This is a definite baby shower gift or congratulations on your pregnancy announcement present.

Very basic knowledge. But explanation is good. I expected more Yoga poses.
If you are already practicing Yoga, the book is very basic. Better I opted for e book. Expected more from the book.
