*Update at the bottom* I originally bought these hiking boots in 2018 for a camping trip to Enchanted Rock, TX. When I first tried them on, they were pretty stiff but incredibly sturdy and comfortable. I broke them in during our trip, hiking trails and doing some bouldering. I wore thick wool socks one day and regular white Nike tube socks another day, but the boots weren't too tight and fit nicely with a little wiggle room if I wore thinner socks. I didn't end up with any blisters, and they were extremely warm and kept my feet cozy. If you've ever been to Enchanted Rock, you know there are a lot of vertical slopes and steep-incline rock faces, but I FELT LIKE SPIDER-MAN SCALING A GLASS SKYSCRAPER because these boots gave me incredible grip and didn't bend or crease at all. Even after walking through dirt, sand, and dust, these gave me the best traction and not once did I feel anxious about slipping the way I would if I was wearing some regular Nike or Adidas running shoes. I was also shocked at how light they felt on my feet and didn't have the clunky, heavy drag of other types of rubber hiking boots. As for being waterproof, they performed just as I expected, passing with flying colors. No amount of mud or rain could infiltrate the seams, and my feet stayed nice and dry after traipsing through muddy fields and rain all day. Fast forward two years to 2020 and they are still in great shape after countless camping trips and hikes. They're a little dusty, but besides that, the laces haven't frayed, the rubber hasn't cracked or started peeling, and the insulation and comfort inside is still super cozy and supportive. I started working at a car shop as a mechanic, and I had planned on ordering some new steel-toed work boots, but in the meantime I wore my Xpeti's. I was once again amazed at how sturdy yet comfortable they were, and even though I have dropped heavy metal wrenches on my feet, stubbed my toes on solid metal machines, and almost had my feet lightly torched, these boots have completely protected my feet. The hard rubber shell around the toe is thick and inflexible, and combined with the padding inside, it prevents anything from actually crushing or banging into my feet- hence the "Iron Man Strength" I mentioned in my headline. And despite being on my feet all day, once again they are extremely comfortable while still providing the support I need. Overall, I would buy these boots 10x over because of how much I love them. They are not only lightweight, have great grip, and are incredibly warm, dry, and comfortable, but they are super sturdy and protect my feet from any damage. If you're looking for a pair of hiking boots, look no further because these are just what you need. It is now 2023 (about to be 2024) and this is my five year update: still going strong. I joined the military and had new boots issued to me for my uniform and let me tell you- these Xpeti’s outdo “military-grade” in every aspect. They’re still sturdy and grippy as ever and I would wear them every day with my uniform if I could. Since my last update I got to test these out in snow and ice (against my will) when we got snowed in at Palo Duro Canyon over a weekend and every part of my body was freezing except for my feet. Yet again they were warm and dry despite trudging through wet snow and ice sludge, and are still no worse for wear. I guess I’ll be doing another update in two years, but I just might run out of good things to say about these boots 😂 It’s 2025 and they’re still alive! Many a mile and adventure I have been on since my last update, and these boots are still kicking. Most recently, I wore them for training and in the Bataan Memorial Ruck March, which is in White Sands, NM. (Basically a 26.2 mile trail through sand/dirt/gravel in the desert with 45lbs on my back and yes, it was terrible.) In terms of comfort/blisters: zero complaints. I didn’t even get to change my socks because I forgot the extras in my car, so my feet were stinkin’ and sweatin’ and they still came out unscathed with my skin intact. However, they were H-O-T, HOT! Honestly, I should’ve known better because they’re insulated so that’s on me, but they are still sturdy as ever and my ankles were grateful for the support. For wear and tear: they are dusty and crusty and I have beaten the insoles to a pulp. At this point, the boots are white as a ghost and practically sole-less (ha ha). The outer soles are still in good shape with no cracking or crumbling, although the right toe cap has begun to lift, which means no more waterproofing :( The outer shell itself also has started to deteriorate just from the sheer amount of use, but nothing exceptional. Laces are good, hooks are good, heels are good…need I continue? At this point in their lifetime, I am still so pleased with how they are holding up despite the abuse they’ve been through. If there’s one thing I’d do differently, I would’ve sized up to make more room for a better insole and still have wiggle room for my feet swelling during normal activities. I mean, really, I’ve had these for almost a decade now and they’re still going strong! I never would have guessed I’d be using them for this long since they’re so much cheaper than a majority of “high-end” hiking boots, but here we are. See you guys in 2027?

I bought these for a winter vacation in Colorado last month. After reading the reviews I opted to only go up a half size instead of a whole. I was ok with this but after putting in an extra insole, I could only wear an average thickness sock, not thick ones. (I have to wear a special insole because i have problems with my heels.) The insoles aren’t really too much thicker than the ones you can buy at a store, but if you need insoles and want to wear thick socks, go up a whole size. I would still go up at least a half size even if you don’t use extra insoles or if you alternate between sizes in normal shoes because they do run small. I’m a true 8 and never have to get a different size which is why I only went up a half size. If I did it over again I would go up a whole size bigger. We hiked 3 or 4 miles a day in the snow in the Rocky Mountains and my toes only felt a little cold after a few hours but were never so cold that I was uncomfortable. I’m sure if I had on thicker socks I wouldn’t have felt the cold at all. I have low arches so I was worried that the boots might have too much arch support like a lot of shoes, but the subtle arch support was just right for me. Some reviews said they didn’t have to be broken in and I 100% agree. I only wore them around the house for about 10 mins before I actually wore them hiking. They never hurt my feet. I do feel like the tongue of these boots are very thick though. Maybe that’s for support but I found that a bit bothersome. Also Like some reviews said, these boots did rub my leg a little when I was trying them at home, but once I had my fleece lined leggings on I didn’t have a problem with it. I feel like you could also roll your sock down to that point and it would remedy that. I think this happens because the tongue is so thick, it’s hard to tie the boot tight at the top and that might be what was causing it to rub? I don’t have big ankles so that wasn’t the problem. Overall, I am very happy with these boots and I can’t wait to wear them again. They are lightweight, very comfortable, kept my feet dry the whole time and worth every penny I paid for them. I live in the south and we don’t get snow so I’m hoping these will be great for summer hiking too. I will update this review when that happens.

Big fan of Xpeti boots. My first pair (in the box) has lasted 4 years of wear in the cold months, walking 8+ miles per day over varied terrain in all weather. They are always warm but don’t make my feet sweat, they also keep warm when I’ve had snow go in through the top and melt. Personally there was no break in period for me and I don’t use any substitute sole inserts. I did go up a half size to accommodate thick socks. I’ve gifted two pairs to coworkers and recommend them to all of my coworkers and anyone who asks (the topic of footwear comes up a lot in my line of work) I only ordered the replacement boots because cosmetically, my old ones need to retire. There is minimal wear to the sole, no separation between the sole edge and the boot, never had to replace the laces. The fabric part of the boot has just become fuzzy/flakey from rubbing on my snow pants and occasional concrete step. TLDR: they are warm in all weather, comfortable on feet and body for extended periods of use, and seem pretty indestructible.

This is my first ever pair of hiking boots. I never spend more than $20 on shoes because I rarely ever wear them. I literally HATE shoes. I walk/climb barefoot and always have, everywhere I go. Since I had to move back to Illinois (from Florida) where it will be cold soon, I realized I was going to need some boots. I bought these for a few reasons. #1) I read they're good snow boots as well as hiking boots. #2) because I will not buy nor wear leather and #3) I really really liked the look of them. I ordered a half size up for the purpose of thick socks. I'm glad I did. I think you should probably go a half size up even if you don't plan on wearing thick socks. Here's my review so far: I absolutely love these. They are pretty stiff which is something I like. I don't like squishy. I usually feel very off balance in boots but with these I do not. I have a pretty flat and wide foot and these are really comfortable even straight out of the box. I was worried the arch of these boots would hurt my feet but it doesn't. So if you have a flat foot, I highly recommend these. They are also protective, as promised. Within 5 minutes of putting these on, my 4 year old fell off his skateboard and it went flying straight into my ankle. I didn't feel a thing. Anyone who's ever been hit in the ankle with a skateboard knows it's a fate worse than death. lol. That was the moment I knew I made the right choice. These truly are 100% waterproof. I walked a good 10 minutes through a creek just above my ankle. My feet stayed dry the whole time. Also- I climbed up/down a 15ft muddy hill that was so steep it literally looked like a wall. These boots have some serious grip. I thought I was going to fall backwards or slide down the whole time but I didn't. It didn't even seem physically possible. lol. I never would've been able to do that without them. On top of all that, they come with a 12 month warranty which is awesome. I don't know what else I can say about how much I love these. I can't think of a single thing wrong with them. I'm impressed. Xpeti just made my forever list!

The boots are incredibly comfortable! I have issues with my ankles being stuck out (very bony ankles) and usually do not buy boots that rise above them. however in my wonderful rainy, clay and some rock filled farm I needed boots that go above the ankle to give more support as well as providing traction on the slippery grounds, and keep my feet dry. Finding this was difficult, especially the traction. If you want comfortable, well now you're asking for the impossible. I have to say, wow these boots provide it!! My extremely bony ankles are not sore while or after wearing them. I have a high arch, these do not, but there is no discomfort with them. They snuggle my feet. Thats the best way I can describe the way my feet feel inside these boots. If you are not familiar with clay land, it becomes slimy and usually you just keep sliding all the way down the hill. You can even fall up the hill. It doesnt matter if you have large rocks, the clay gets on it and whooosh. The clay sticks to your shoes, boots ........... you would have better chances of stopping lava flowing than this combination. These boots, only worn once outside with the slimy clay, held traction the best of any boots I have tried (I have tried many styles of hiking boots, working boots, and etc). My feet stayed dried as well even when I reached the wonderful clay filled puddle. The downfall is the seller recommends and some others as well that you should order a size up form what you normally wear. I disagree with this. I took their advice and ordered the size up. They are way too big. Even if wearing thick wool socks, they are still too large. In truth I should have ordered either the size I normally wear or a size smaller. I would recommend ordering your size. If they dont fit, send them back and order the size you think you need. I wont be sending these back, as my daughter can wear them. I am ordering another pair for myself the size I normally wear so I have room for the thick socks.
