Handheld Hockey Ice Skate Sharpener

Like the name says, it can help maintain the edges of your blade. I previously used the Pro-filer brand hand held skate blade sharpener for many years, but it went out of business, so I was glad to find this sharpener.

This is the best handheld sharpening tool available without a doubt. Super easy to use, and works exactly as described. I have tried several for personal use as well as with the High School hockey team I coach, and this is the best. The grinding stone is dramatically better than the sandpaper like devices I have used previously, and this tool actually makes a hollow and real edges, unlike most sharpeners that really just clean up existing knicks or bad edges. Would buy again and would encourage other teams (that we don't play...haha) to keep one on their bench.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this product worked. I’m a bigger guy (265lbs/6’3) and just a “D-League” hockey player at best, and decided to give this tool a shot. I usually just go with the standard 1/2” grind from the rink sharpener but went with the 3/8” to try a deeper hollow. After watching the videos and following the directions, I could feel a difference on the ice immediately. Normally when skating I would feel like my blades would “shimmy” when gliding, but with this fresh grind and new hollow, I immediately felt a better grip. How good is the edge when stopping? Well, being a normal slower skater and used to the shallower grind, I nearly launched myself when I attempted my first real stop. The edge was there for sure. After a few more test stops and getting used to the 3/8” cut I was very pleased. Glad I picked this up.

Product is very useful and very effective in sharpening the skate. My son is currently a 12U travel player and will find the Maintain the EDGE skate sharpener very useful to ensure consistent edges on his skates before all practices and games. I can also see a great use when we are at a rink that does not offer or trust the skate sharpening. I bought the sharpener last month and found it to be very effective in giving me a good inside and outside edge. The "how to use" video was great to ensure proper use. It is a fantastic tool that every hockey player and coach should have in their bag!!

After grinding per the instructions, it barely took any nail off my finger.

Excellent sharpener for blades. Very clever design which should make it last a long time. Takes a little getting used to and a fair amount of elbow grease, but the end result are sharp blades just like shop does it.We've got 5 skaters in our family so the cost savings comes out after just one use in all 5 pairs.

This sharpener is a very inventive and an easy to use design. I use this sharpener weekly and it is a more than adequate replacement for getting the skates professionally sharpened. The sharpener also has a stone on it to remove any burrs from sharpening. Overall I highly recommend this tool to anyone that wants to... Maintain their Edge!

I live in a more rural area so skate sharpening is not easily accessible. I used this sharpener on completely dull blades and couldn’t be more happy with the results. It suits my purpose.

The Edge Pro seems to work just fine.Have only used it once so far, it provided a good edge on my skates.I was a long time user of Profiler which went out of business.Edge Pro seems to fit the bill as a replacement.

Easy to use. Saves me time & money waiting to get my skates sharpened.
