Review: Minimalist, Modern - I don’t like ceiling fans, at least not the traditional ones with glass flower trumpets holding the light bulbs and large, paddle-sized fan blades. They can be a huge, negative distraction in a room. That’s why this fan’s minimalist, modern design appealed so much to me. It’s a large fan that looks great on a vaulted ceiling with an appropriate-sized down rod. An electrician installed it, and we didn’t experience any excessive motor noise or wobbling at any of the speeds. It also moved enough air to create a breeze so that we could leave the air conditioner at a higher setting and still be comfortable. There may be more functional fans that are better at cooling a room, but I didn’t really concentrate on that aspect of it because it was love at first sight.

**Q: Can the fan be install without any downroad (flush mount). I have a 7'6" ceiling. If so, how big will it be from bottom of the fan  to the top of the**
A: You can't install it flush, but it comes with a very short rod (4or so inches)

**Q: Can the 6" downrod be cut down to a shorter length?**
A: This would not be advised as the downrods are not set as able to be field cut.

**Q: Does this fan make any noise when operating even at low speed. Some fans make a low hum. Does this fan make an electrical humming noise at low speed?**
A: There is a very low noise, almost white noise, which is not bothersome. We sleep with the fan on all the time in the second slowest speed and it’s actually soothing. You can’t hear the noise if there’s any sound on, like music or tv, only in silence.

**Q: What does "manual reversing switch on motor" mean for the ability to reverse airflow with this fan?**
A: Hi Jessica,Thanks for the question. This means there's a switch (similar to a light switch on your wall) that you can flip so that the blades on the fan spin in the opposite direction. In the winter time, it's best to have the blades spin in the opposite direction so you can circulate the warm air that gets trapped high up on the ceiling. We hope this helps. Edit 2026, I have two of these fans, one of them is now over ten years old, it is still as quiet and balanced as it was when it was new. These are great simple, high quality fans that don't detract from the rest of the room. Note: If your current fan blade tips are close to your ceiling you need to be careful hanging this one. You may need a longer down rod (available from big box store) to hang this one with proper clearance. The blades sit at the top of its slim motor housing so it was several inches shorter than the old fan I replaced. I needed a longer down rod. The fan is modern, sleek and quiet. It's classy and subdued. Perfect. Wish it came with a remote.
