TOTALLY waterproof! Works wonderful for co-sleeping with kids!
Hands down the best solution I've found to having a baby/toddler crawl into bed with you. Protects against pee accidents, leaking breastmilk after having a baby, and baby spit up in the night. Best part is that it sits on top of the sheets so you don't soil the sheets each night when the baby sleeps with you.I know I read in other reviews that when it arrives it says, "not for use with children under 12 yrs. old." It does not explain why, but I'm guessing it's overly cautious b/c of1) it being vinyl underneath and hence is not an organic material & has associated odors when you first use it.2) b/c it's vinyl, it can get warm, even make you sweat if you don't have AC in the summer, and I guess you don't want to overheat kids (but it has a cool cotton quilted top that is very natural feeling & soft)3) it doesn't "seal" to the mattress or tuck underneath and is made to go on top of the sheets, so it potentially could get scrunched up and I GUESS obstruct breathing in a baby. I'm just guessing on these 3 possible reasons for the warning. Now I am pretty environmentally friendly and super concerned with toxins with my children, but after 2 boys who coslept with us and multiple "accidents" on our mattresses that would seep through other protectors/towels (not to mention the sheets on top)...I was ready to leap at a new approach while expecting baby #3.I know it's not intended for cosleeping with babies, but let's face it...a lot of us do it...and this certainly works! The best part is that I just purchased 2 of them (despite the cost) and that was a wonderful choice. When baby soaks it for some reason, I can just pull out the other one and lay it down right on top of the sheets. No late night soaked sheets! They dry super in the dryer and I've used them nightly for 6 months now.

Best bed wetting protection solution you can buy
I've used and tried many different types of so called 'waterproof' pads and blankets while night training my kids. Most of them are useless and soak through somehow even though they call them waterproof. This product is fantastic. It actually absorbs and is 100% waterproof and has never let anything thru to the mattress. The reason for this is clearly seen on the bottom layer of the sheet. It's an obvious waterproof material, but the top material (which the child lays on) is more of a soft absorbent type of material. It's the perfect combo. It's SUPER easy to throw in the wash. In the middle of the night, if there's a bed wetting accident, you simply pull this off, and use a fresh one or put them back on their original sheets that are DRY! Game changer, life saver. I purchased the larger size which is amazing because tossing and turning sometimes can shift the sheet. These are large enough that even with shifting, it doesn't matter because it will cover a large area and will stay under the child. Buy this. Save yourself the middle of the night troubles! You won't regret it.

Great for potty training/bed-wetting toddlers
We bought two for our three year old. He's mostly potty trained but still has accidents occasionally. We have a mattress protector for under his fitted sheet and it does its job well, but that is to protect the mattress. We learned pretty quickly that this was not a complete solution to bed-wetting. When he wets the bed he gets the fitted sheet soaked. We all know that when it comes to bed-making, the order of operations is such that having to change that layer is a real hassle, especially if you also have to change and clean up a little human. I thought it would be easier to remove one of these and replace it in the middle of the night or in the morning than changing his entire bed. These are fantastic! They are large enough to catch the whole mess (he sleeps in a twin bed and it takes up about 3/4 of the bed) but small enough to wash at home in my washing machine. They wash well and the upper material is very soft. He loves it actually. Using them works just how we envisioned. If he wets the bed in the middle of the night, I pull it off, put the clean one on the bed and get him cleaned and changed. He goes back to bed and I take the soiled mat down to the washer and toss it in with a few things. In the morning I put it in the dryer. If he's had another accident, I strip off the mat and know that in the evening when we return from work and school we'll have a clean, dry one for bed time. He rarely wets the bed multiple times, but it has happened. On a few occasions I have wished we owned three of these, but two has worked just fine.
