I've played with a lot of cymbals. Some have cost me thousands of dollars, but I have to say that these Mute Quiet Symbols are some of the best I've ever used.First of all, they are incredibly quiet. I can play them in my home without disturbing my neighbors, which is a huge plus. But even though they are quiet, they still sound great. They have a nice, clear tone that is perfect for practice or recording.I'm also impressed with how well they play. They feel very responsive and natural under the sticks. I've actually found that I prefer them to some of my more expensive cymbals.Overall, I am extremely happy with the mosico Mute Quiet Symbols. I really like these cymbals. The biggest difference I notice compared with traditional cymbals is the sound. They’re noticeably quieter and have more of a soft, slightly tinny ring rather than the louder, harder clang I normally associate with cymbals. For practicing at home, I actually find the sound very pleasant, especially when I don’t want the cymbals overpowering everything else.I also really like the silver finish. That’s obviously personal preference, but I prefer silver tones over the traditional gold/brass appearance, and these look great on my kit.Installation and setup were no different from regular cymbals. They mounted right onto my existing stands without anything unusual or complicated.Overall, I’d recommend these primarily for someone looking for a quieter practice setup. They still give you the feel and response of playing cymbals, but without nearly as much volume and harshness.

First let me start off by saying these little symbols sound really good for the amount of money you pay for them. In fact, I would rather have these than some six or $700 sets. I looked for a review about anyone using these for recording purposes but couldn’t find any. So I took a chance. I put a microphone on hi hats and microphones on the symbols. My goal was to have a much quieter symbol in the room but still be able to pump up the volume in my DAW workstation. Wow! I am impressed. The symbols sound really good when you mic them up. The only thing that keeps it a four star, is the ride symbol does not work well for that purpose. You don’t get enough paying without the symbol rattling like crazy. However, it makes a great low sounding symbol. Are use it as such and I am very pleased with the sound of it for that purpose. The smallest crash, I have not used it for recording because I couldn’t get it to sound proper. It’s funny that I use the midsize crash in the ride is my two crashes and they work well. Hi hats have a tinny sound if you put the mic in the wrong place. I found I get the best sound out of putting the microphone directly over top of the top by hand pointing down at it on the backside, the opposite side you hit . Typically I would put it to the side but I couldn’t stand it tinny sound it made it distorted. Overall these symbols sound great for recording purposes. I will put a little sample of something I played in a song by recording a video and uploading. I’ll try to do that very soon . If you’re looking for a quieter symbol to record with, this price you can make the sound big as you like or small as you like.

I have been playing drums for almost 25 years. 20 of those years I have owned and played mainly high end zildjian and paiste cymbals. I set up my drums after moving and needed a quiet way to practice whenever I want so I got these because I have played the zildjian l80s in person and wasn’t impressed for how much they cost.For what these cost, they are an incredible value. The hats are acceptable, and could double for individual small crashes if you got another set. The ride and the crashes both sound fantastic. The ride has good definition, but also has a good amount of wash to it if driven hard. The crashes have great dimension and shimmer and sound like alloy cymbals it’s crazy. They probably are a little louder than the big name low volume cymbals. But to have a complete set of cymbals for less than the cost of one of the name brand? It’s a no brainer. It’s for practice anyway and these are definitely quiet enough. You can bang on them without hearing protection no problem.I got the regular silver pack. They look great and sound great. Even if these weren’t meant for practice they sound great and could be used for recording or for triggered kits. Highly recommend.

I set up an acoustic drum set for my son in the basement, and was way too loud for my wife. The sounds reverberated through the whole house. I was desperate to to damper not only the toms, kick and snare but the also the cymbals were killing us. I got a set of Eastrock Drum mute pads that included cymbal mutes. They were great for the toms and even the kick but the snare and cymbal dampeners left much to be desired. They were clanky and totally took the dynamics out of the cymbals. I saw these and was very skeptical for the price. I figured they would sound terrible and damage quickly. To my surprise they sounded great! I prefer them to our Zildjian ZBT set we have. Nice sizzle and dynamics at half the noise level. We also paired them with a set of Adoro Silent Sticks and we are very pleased. As far as the snare goes, my son just covers with a t shirt and it really helps the volume with sacrificing the feel. Still working on this and will update if I find a good solution. I'm hoping these cymbals will last! I paid about $136 for all three (pad, cymbals and silent sticks) and was money well spent. Get these cymbals, you won't be disappointed!

Added this pack (Silver) in conjunction with my Roland TD 25 e-drum set effectively creating a "Hybrid" kit. Looks good, sounds and feels AMAZING!!!- For practicing with the band it obviously plays as standard cymbals but at a fraction of the volume (and price). Would not work well if you're in an apartment type setting where sound or volume attenuation is critical.- Live Performances : Have not tried it yet however in a small/confined venue without mics these would work and still sound great especially for keeping the overall band volume low. Old school overhead mics and one on the hi-hat would definitely work for added volume but just go with your typical cymbals at that point. I've also seen YouTube vids showcasing other low profile mic options specifically for these low volume cymbals.In all, these are a great purchase and addition but it would depend upon what your needs are.

These cymbals are great! I played at a low-volume jam session at my church with these and a cajon, and the cymbals sounded GREAT with cajon brushes. I put a little gaff tape on the hi-hats to decrease the brightness, but I played the rest of the cymbals unaltered. They’re all pretty bright with regular sticks but are definitely still usable, and a little gaff tape can fix that. The ride is washy and more like a crash/ride, but it actually sounds really good. They sound better than most budget “real” cymbals.

Love these for practice. And probably could use them to gig or studio in certain situations such as small spaces or as FX cymbals. At least 50% reduction in volume. The crashes especially sound great. The ride is serviceable and is actually my favorite to crash/ride on. The hat kinda sucks except when open. I use my regular hat and achieve great sound and overall still a huge reduction in noise for my bandmates. Use for beginners practicing in the home, rehearsals, and potentially for live/studio use cases. If they could get the hat a little better, I would give it a perfect score. Btw, great price!

These cymbals have amazing sound for sure. I am giving one star less because for 16k kind of product packaging was very poor. Two cymbals even have some dent on edges. And they are very expensive considering in other countries they are for less than half price.

I prefer to practice with low-volume cymbals. This kit is perfect for my needs. I recommend this set 100%.

Excelente inversión para ensayar y hasta tocar. Los platillos si tienen un tono y brillo musical, ensayo perfectamente en casa y en grupo. Todavía no los he usado para presentarme en vivo pero me encantaría usarlos para un show dentro de un restaurant o sonido acústico.

The crashes and ride actually sound pretty good and don't hurt my ears to play. The hats sound... fine if they are a bit open. Unfortunately, they sound like hitting a cookie sheet when they're closed. Other than the hats, very impressed.
