Sabrent Rocket Pro 1 TB on a older iMac USB 3.0
First of of all I want to say it was beautifully packaged, and also it seems to come with 2 cables now 1 for usb 3 and for usb c, which a lot of people complained about the single cable with a adapter so the that problem seems to have been solved, Sabrent seem to be listening to customer feedback which is always good to hear, it was a toss up between this, separate NVME/case and Samsung T7, I chosen this as I already have a Samsung T5 and use this as a boot up drive which has worked faultlessly for about a year and is much faster (approx 400 mb per second) than the old HD fitted in my 2015 27" iMac (approx 100 mb per second), so to the rocket on USB 3 well it come at the same speed as a T5, in fact a little slower I am now running as my boot up drive (MacOS Big Sur) and it seems to be very stable which is what I was after. So my advice is that on USB 3.0 is no faster than the Samsung T5 but is very well made, hope this helps the people without the latest tech, as most reviews just give speed of usb c type connectors.

Didn't work at all
A very solid and apparently well made device. Unfortunately it did not work at all.Every time it was connected to my PC it threw up an error message "there are faults with this drive, Scan & Repair".Usually the device is not recognised as a drive at all so Scan & Repair is impossible. On the odd occasion when it was recognised and Scan & Repair is attempted it throws up another error message "there was a problem with repairing this drive. Windows was unable to repair the drive...try again". Tried several time with no success. On the one occasion it was recognised I copied a few files over and they immediately "disappeared".I have returned it for a full refund and am going to buy another and see if it was just a Friday afternoon job.Watch this space.

Great high speed USB external ssd used as a boot drive
This is a great little drive, good price, best I could find for the features. It achieves about 1000 mbs over a usb 3.1gen2 connection, I use this through a thunderbolt port which is useful if you dont have the gen 2 USB like me. I use this as a Windows boot drive and works great. It does get hot after sustained use but very normal. I have used it to deal with gigs of video which it powers through. Thoroughly recommended.

Not too happy
Fast and durable SSD if you're looking to archive files and such.If you're looking to run an OS from it, forget it. I've tried running Catalina on it and it was crashing several times a day. Now running Mojave. It doesn't crush as much but you'll still get the wheel of death on many occasions:- Working with a torrent client- Transferring large files to another external SSD- Regular browsing- Working with PhotoshopAgain, not as often as Catalina but still frustrating.

Excellent Speed for a USB drive
I copied about 1.5TB of data (over 120,000 files) to this drive in about 2 hours. This is much faster than my USB HDD. The drive got a bit warm after a few hours of constant use, but not too hot to handle. This will make a great backup drive for my personal data, photos and music files. A great buy.
