A very nice tool
It's light in the hand and has a broad edge, much more like a tomahawk than a hatchet. I got it for carving and it is great at it. It arrived sharp with a fine bevel and has held its edge so far. The hammer head on the back was a nice surface to tap on for the carving. The sheath does its job but is not fancy - I'll make a new one. I treated the handle with linseed oil, as it didn't appear to have much of a finish. And it throws beautifully - stuck it on my first throw. It will be my go-to hawk from now on.

good tool, worth the price
Used the King Co hatchet that I recently got. The head is solid, a bit heavier than others because of its size. I sharpened up the edge just a bit to get the coating off and was able to easily shave down some branches I had collected. The mask it came with was cut by the blade during shipping most likely, so that'll be replaced. I didn't realize how thin the handle would be, so that'll get a wrap of some kind, but it is straight and solid feeling. Overall though, I'd say this is going to be a fun to use, light duty tool to use on trips and outdoors around the fires. It's a nice big blade with a hammer head on the rear. I'm not sure that I'd be able to use a thicker handle if I ever have to re haft it, but this head is going to last quite a long time. It's a heavy duty hatchet, not a splitting maul or demo sledge, but I think it will hold its own in the backyard and camping. In my opinion, it's a good price and I'm happy with the tool I received!

Just get it!
It’s perfect and more than worth the price. It’s aesthetically pleasing but also 100% functional.I’ve been using it the past few weeks around the yard, even chopped up a crap ton of firewood with it. Drove a bunch of nails with the hammer end (solid, didn’t pock it up at all). It’s put together nice and tight. I don’t feel worried about anything coming loose. Also came perfect amount of sharpened out of the box. I’m not an edge or grind snob or anything, so this tomahawk was perfect right out of the box.

Cheaply made, handle not worthy
The ax head has not been grinded right, the handle is cheap and easily breakable. DO NOT BUY 1 dollar tool priced at 50 dollars.

Handle issues
First off, I got this to throw. The head is very well made. Comes sharp. The cover is garbage. They should have left it out and focused on the handle. The handle. It's to small for the head. Not length, but diameter. Makes controlling the head difficult because the balance is off. Tiny stick handle. Heavy axe head. The head is not fit well. You will be banging it a lot to keep it snug. You can throw this, but it's kinda awkward with the tiny handle. Mine chipped pretty quickly. A very large piece can out from throwing. My other axes have never done this. This is probably because the handle is to small. For chopping and normal use this is a good hatchet. Throwing? Yeah, needs work. Gonna try taking some weight off mine and making a new handle as there is potential there.

Good quality ax head but the handle is terrible...
Not a happy camper! Purchased this for a trip to Colorado and Utah and it arrived sharp & ready to go. It's a little heavy and not suited for backpacking at all. When it came time to use it to gather firewood I found the handle to be pretty terrible. With just a straight round handle there is very little leverage gain and with the blade face so far away from the handle neck the head rotates the handle with each strike. It's not heavy enough to sink deep on a normal swing so you really have to power swing it. When it hits the head flops to one side or the other as the round handle rotates in your hand. Unless you've got a "Kung Fu" grip and tree trunk arms this is a bad choice in hatches. Get one that is well balanced and with a proper ergonomic shaped handle rather than a round broomstick for a handle.Hatchet is sharp I'll give it that, so sharp that it cut right through the flimsy thin faux (?) leather sheath supplied with on the first trip, needs a better edge guard. For the money there are better hatches and I wish I could return it. Take my advise and keep shopping.

Good quality but, dull edge.
Good quality hawk, built well. I couldn't get the head off the handle though. Had to spend a few hours on the edge with my diamond stones, would have went faster with a file first. Holds a sharp edge even when chopping thru frozen dead Ash(hardwood here in Wisconsin,USA). No rolls or chips. My edge will cut hairs and still does after chopping. I did a little work on the handle too. Not needed, it comes good as is. I just wanted to add my personal touch. Arabic writing. One side says: Wisdom the other: Peace. At the bottom as a wrap around, I wrote Will.
