Review: This is the best diet book I reed in my 68years and I have reed quite a few. This diet book has every thing you need to start a diet and be successful at it, such as the fabulous recipes, entrees and soups, luscious sides and condiments. The meal plans for the 21 days all layed out. How to make the different kinds of bone broth required. The importance of exercise, stress reduction and a slim mind set. I love this book very easy to read and understand. LOVED THE PRICE give it five stars. Review: A cup of bone broth several times a day seems to improve everything from IBS, Celiac and Insulin Resistance to wrinkles, hair, nails and Joint Pain. Even better, when combined with mini-fasts, it’s a no-hunger way to lose weight really fast and boost your immune system in the bargain. In just the last two and a half months, over 40 books on cooking and dieting with Bone Broth have been published, with a lot more on the way, so Grannie’s nostrum for all ills is making a big comeback. The science behind it is convincing, so I bought the top-rated book on the subject, Dr. Kellyann’s Bone Broth Diet: Lose Up to 15 Pounds, 4 Inches–and Your Wrinkles!–in Just 21 Days. I made my first batch of bone broth as per instruction, and I must say that it is as delicious and satisfying as advertised. A single cup of broth will keep you going for hours, and my husband loves it too! Use her recipes or your imagination to spice up the basic broth any way you want. Bone broth can be made out of beef, poultry, fish or lamb, so you can accommodate most dietary preferences with a truly healing brew. You might find it challenging to find the ingredients in a chain supermarket, but I found Oriental markets a treasure trove for cartilaginous goodies like chicken feet , ox tail and beef tendon. Cooking things from scratch is more time-consuming, but Dr. Kellyann shows how to cook ahead and simplify meals, so it is really doable, even with a crazy schedule. I was a bit put off by the feeling that Dr. Kellyann was trying to push her own supplements and products, but I guess that’s part of the territory for “a concierge doctor for celebrities in New York City and Los Angeles.” Looking through the desertcart excerpts of some of the other books, they all seem to be promoting the same principles: Drink bone broth 2 times a day as a supplement , or 6 times a day during the recommended weekly or twice-weekly mini-fasts, which is where the real fat-burning occurs. You are urged to adopt a diet that is essentially paleo by : no sugars, grains, dairy, soy or GMO foods, which are all inflammatory for most people; only “good” fats like coconut oil, butter (ghee), olive oil; try for organic, free range and grass fed as much as possible. Don’t forget to drink lots of water, stop eating when you’re full, exercise, get enough sleep (which should improve with this diet), think virtuous thoughts, etc. These recommendations alone should help one’s health considerably, so how about the addition of bone broth – is it really that amazing, or just the latest meme or fad? Well, I am trying the program out, and will report back on how it is going. UPDATE: Well, I didn't stick to it as a diet since the weight loss really came from the intermittent fasting, which you can do with any diet. On the other hand, I have permanently incorporated both bone broth and Collagen Hydrolysate 2 Lb. By Zint into my diet, and I can report significant improvement in both skin appearance and disappearance of joint pain. My new favorite drink in the morning is fresh brewed organic coffee, wizzed up in the blender with collagen, coconut oil and ghee. It's like Bulletproof coffee but better.

I heard about this diet from a friend. She loaned me her book and I read it cover to cover before I had to return it. So intrigued, I jumped in and did the entire 21-day plan. Lost about 8 lbs and 5.5 inches overall.. WOW. I loved it and am currently doing my 2nd 21-day "round". Down over 12 lbs. total and won't measure until I'm done with this round, but it works. The recipes in this book are delicious (even hubby has loved most of them). They are easy and the science behind the diet appears to be spot on with new findings that are now being more recognized. It's basically a Keto-based diet that uses bone broth to keep you satisfied on mini-fasting days (2 per week), as well as the bone broth has so many healthy benefits for your body and skin. I love the bone broth and I've most definitely noticed a significant improvement in my skin. For me, this diet has worked, I'm thrilled with the results so far, and this is now my ongoing lifestyle... until I hit my goal weight and move into a maintenance phase. It's do-able, the food is good, I feel great, I'm sleeping great, and I'm not hungry. What a blessing! Dr. Kellyann not only outlines the science behind her plan/diet, but does a great job outlining the "yes" foods, the "no" foods, and tips/tricks to make this easy for anyone... for people who cook, to people who don't cook. Can't say enough good things about it.

I really am enjoying this book. There is a lot of background information on the benefits of Bone Broth, and then there is the "recipe" to make the broth from any bone choice you make - beef, chicken, fish... I used our crock pot to make a large batch. Since our pot only has a 12 hour timer, I had to make sure I restarted the timer for a 2nd 12 hour period. Once the broth was strained, cooled down and fat removed, I keep the broth in the fridge and during the day I put a couple of ladle fulls into a mug and heat it up in the microwave. It replaces a coffee or makes a quick comforting lunch. I have used the broth as a base for rice as well as soups. Great book and gives you enough information so you can incorporate the broth into many dishes.
