DYMO D1 High Performance Flexible Nylon Fabric Tape for Label Makers, 1/2-inch, Black Print on White, 12-Foot Cartridge (16953), DYMO Authentic

I use my battery operated Dymo labeler for lots of different things from paper to plastic. The replacement cartridge is easy to install even for someone mechanically challenged like me. My only problem is that the sticky stuff is not very strong, so sometimes I need to add a little hot glue for adhesion.

The installation was a simple drop-in. I will be ordering more very soon.

The Dymo Labeling tape arrived on schedule (if memory serves me correctly it was even a day early). The product is exactly as described and arrives packed very well - no chance of the tape cartridges being damaged. It works quite well with the "Plug and Play" DYMO labeling machine that plugs right into your PC with a USB. You do have to purchase the small machine separately. The tapes come in black ink and blue ink (perhaps other colors but black and blue is all I use. ) I believe the machine has instructions but it is so easy to use, you don't need instructions.Also you choose the size of tape and when on the PC you determine size and style of font and length of label. If you have many things to label and keep track of as I do, I don't think you will find a better product. The vendor on Amazon is fast and efficient and very careful about packing their product.

When I first tried to put this cartridge into my old Dymo 1000, it wouldn't fit. But, then I found the following information posted elsewhere, and Dymo really does offer to replace your old 1000 with a LabelMaker 260P for FREE! They don't even ask you to pay the shipping -- they cover the entire cost. This really gives me confidence in purchasing other Dymo products, knowing that they will do the right thing. They said that they know they changed the D1 cartridge, and they are responsible for making it right with the customers.ATTENTION: Dymo recently modified the shape of it's label cartridges and they are no longer compatible with the Dymo 1000 printer. However, if you call Dymo at 1-800-640-6944 and tell them you have one, they will replace with the new Dymo LabelManager 260P (a great new rechargeable printer) for FREE. Be sure you have a newer model when ordering this cartridge. The main difference is the size of the curved cutout on the bottom right. The old model is large at 1" and new is smaller at 1/2".

It is hard to get information about how this more expensive "Permanent" D1 tape differs from standard D1 tape. It looks identical -- same sheen and feel (the "Flexible Nylon" D1 tape does look different). I contacted DYMO, and they responded with:- The standard D1 tapes are meant to be removable.- The Permanent D1's have a higher grade adhesive and are made to be longer lasting than the standard D1's.- I wouldn't recommend using the Permanent D1's if you do plan on removing the label or using it as a temporary thing.- Both of these are durable and but the Permanent D1's do withstand the elements better than the standard D1's.- All in all the main purpose of the Permanent D1's was for industrial use.I can clearly feel that the adhesive is stronger. I haven't tried it outside to see how much longer it lasts in the presence of UV and rain; I have found other thermal transfer tapes don't last long in direct sunlight.

I finally got a label-maker that uses this split-back tape, which is so easy to use; after typing, printing out, and severing the label you just bend the tape a bit horizontally and the backing pops open enough to easily grab it and peel off.This saves me so much time and aggravation compared to the solid-back tape I had to use in my old label maker, which requires you to insert the printed/severed label into a little compartment and then give it a very specific little flick - which I usually had to repeat 2-5 times - to separate a tiny bit of the backing from the edge or the tape, which you then had to carefully push apart with a finger nail til you could actually grab the tape and the backing separately and pull apart, although I usually accidentally squashing it closed again instead.

Great replacement. Liked that I found the tape to fit my machine. I was glad I didn't have to purchase a new machine. Thank you.

Bought these for my daughter's machine to have refills & backups before senior year began.Items arrived unopened, unused, exactly as described, flawlessly packed and with timely arrival, too.I will continue reordering her labeler needs from this reliable and relatively frugal source.An added bonus:I now open the refrigerator to find my quarts of gelled stock labeled with contents & date; when decanting some snacks into a storage jar, she excused herself from the room - and returned with a tidy label in-hand; and best of all, all her senior year / SAT / college & university application, etc paperwork is now flawlessly organized, filed, and... neatly labeled!Stopping now to go give her a big hug!Who knew label maker's tape could improve the family dynamic?

Great for adding names to clothing for long term care patients

I use these a lot. The only downside to them is if you peel them off, they leave a white residue.

Good print quality and adheres to cables well.
