El Oso

The disc case came out fine, although there are some cracks in the backside of the album. The disc has no scratches and is like new. At least it came to my house okay, but I'm taking a star off for the possibility that it was slightly mishandled during transit.

I think most Soul Coughing fans would agree that this is not their best album, but all of them are very good. This does however have 2 of my favorite songs by them Circles and Saint Louise is Listening. I had the CD years ago and misplaced it. I'm switching over to a digital library anyway so I bought it again.

of the three Soul Coughing studio albums, this is undoubtedly their weakest. yeah, maybe their closest to a hit with "Circles" but spotty overall and not littered with classics in the way that Ruby Vroom or Irresistible Bliss are. "St. Louise is Listening" is a classic SC track, however.

Amazing album!! Love every track since the day I first heard it years ago. Arrived in a nice sturdy package in a very timely manner. No damage. Very happy with my purchase.

Really like soul coughing but lots of the same music on this one. If you don't already have a lot of S.C., this is a good album.

This has been better to me this time around, when it first came out i didn't like as much, but with age i've come to appreciate whats here. My favorite album. Houston is my favorite song!

This CD is okay at best, it does have one good song, Circles. That's it the only one I like, other than that skip it and save your money.

I used to listen to this CD a lot back in the day and it was refreshing to find it again and put it back into my mix. :)

E' uscito nel 1998 questo "El oso" capitolo finale della troppo breve avventura dei Soul Coughing, una band che ha fatto della versatillità stilistica il proprio marchio di fabbrica. Tutto all'insegna della estetica lo-fi e dell'indie rock più radicato negli States ma coon talmente tanta carne al fuoco che si resta di stucco. Fosse uscito oggi un album del genere si tirerebbero subito fuori i termini new sensation, new best thing etc etc.... Art pop è il termine che fù usato allora e credo sia appropiato. Io ci vedo anche una dose di follia ironica alla Camper van Beethoven, piccole dosi di lounge music e tanto dub. Insomma, un caòeidoscopio musicale come pochi all'epoca e forse anche oggi.

Third (and final?) studio album from Soul Coughing. Not as avante-garde as their first (Ruby Vroom) but some fun stuff to listen to here.
