Clarks Men's Bushacre 2 Chukka Boot

Brought this as part of a five senses gift for my husband he loved it there was no odor the color is amazing if you are wanting to look well put together then get this item you will not regret it! Also to note that care is definitely needed to maintain the item and it does fit small if you have wider foot then you will need to size up as across the front part is very narrow that was my only issue with the item but apart from that it was good! Also this shoe is not meant for rainy weather snow or anything like that the shoes is not uncomfortable the weight is also light weight again this is what it is so make your decision based on this honest review!

Excellent quality leather for the price. The boots are very well constructed and comfortable. The leather is really nice. It's darker brown in person when you first take them out of the box, but will probably get lighter. I haven't gotten to fully wear the boot. PLEASE NOTE: THE BOOTS RUN AT LEAST 1/2 SIZE LARGE, POSSIBLY A FULL SIZE LARGE. For example, I have a pair of Clark's Original Desert boots in a 10.5. When I first got them, I enjoyed just a little bit of what I considered extra space, but after wearing them for a few days realized that they were in fact too big. Due to the sole being scuffed and dirty from light wear, I was unable to return them. So when I ordered the Bushacre, I figured they would be the same, so I ordered a 10 instead of 10.5 thinking they would be a half size smaller. This was not the case. When I held the two pairs of boots up to one another, they clearly were identical. Consider sizing down at least one half size. Here is a list of my sizes which may or may not be helpful: Allen Edmonds: 10 C/D Wolverine 1000 mile: 9.5 D Original Chippewa: 9.5 D Converse Chuck Taylor: 9 D I cannot stress how good these boots look. I really love the dark brown color, and I was ready for a nice leather boot since I already have the lighter color (Oakwood) suede boots. I may consider a future purchase of another pair in a lighter color leather and/or a gray suede depending on availability. Very versatile. Goes with almost all of my slacks, jeans, and chinos. Awesome. PS: Kudos for Amazon for making the exchange process so simple and effective. Got the boots, size to big, put in for the exchange, and now order has already been dispatched for different size. Boxed them back up, printed return label, and now I'll stop at UPS during lunch to complete the exchange. I love how efficient this is.

First off, I love these shoes. They are the most comfortable pair of ankle boots, chukkas, or really any shoe that I have ever worn. I seriously wish that I had tried a pair of these years ago. The one thing that held me back was the crepe sole. I was told that they wear quickly, and for the normal, retail, brick and mortar store price, that may be true; I'm not made of money. Thing is, these are not crepe, or they're a sturdier kind of crepe, AND the Amazon price is just right! Flexible yet sturdy, I expect these shoes to last for years, they appear to be very well made, and comfortable right out of the box. The leather while thick, is soft as butter. I've had them for about a week now, and yesterday went for a five mile walk. Perfect. They do fit a bit loose, as previous customers have stated, but I ordered a half size smaller than my usual 12's and they're just right. Large enough to wear with a pair of thick socks, or in warmer weather something thinner. The laces take up the slack very well, and there is no significant slippage. The finish on the leather is a dry, non gloss, and will scuff easily. I wiped them down with some neats foot oil, and while they are now darkened up a bit, I find that they do not scuff up as much. Gives the leather a nice patina as well as helping to preserve and soften it. Regular use will keep the leather supple, and there is no way to polish the leather with the manufactured finish anyway. As an aside, I urge Amazon customers to review their purchases for other customers, it is very helpful in tailoring purchases like these without which I would not have known to order smaller, and would have had to exchange them. First off, yes they are a half to a full size too large. I bought a 10 and I normally buy 10.5 or 11 in sneakers (depending on brand). Also, my shoes are the "Beeswax Leather", which is gorgeous. I see there's also a "Beeswax" option and I don't know if that is different or not. Moving on... As you will know if you've been researching, these B2s have a synthetic sole vs the "crepe" sole on the ODBs. Clarks touts the cushioning of the crepe sole, so perhaps that is the main selling point. I have to note that the B2 synthetic soles ARE hard and not cushy. I went ahead and dropped in some Dr Scholls gel inserts and I can wear them comfortably all day. I've also read that the leather may be somewhat better on the ODBs and that they have brass eyelets (although it doesn't currently say that on the ODB Amazon description, so it may no longer be the case). One thing is for sure, and that is that the B2 is over $30 cheaper, at $60 vs $96 (Beeswax, size 10M as of 4/15/17). While the ODB's crepe soles may be more comfortable, a unique cream color, and the more classic style, I like the understated all-brown look you get with the B2. Apparently the crepe soles are also known for wearing out faster and losing grip when wet. Having worn the Bushacre 2 for about 6 months in wet weather, I don't find myself worrying about slipping during normal activities. The soles may lack tread, but they do have a significant texture to them that provides perfectly adequate grip. I even (inadvertently) wore them on a brief hike once, and yeah, they aren't good for walking in mud, but they aren't hiking boots. On the trail they were fine, normal—about the same as any regular sneaker. Incidentally, the mud wiped off easily with some damp paper towels and they came out looking exactly the same as before. As for the leather, I was prepared to accept the supposedly lower quality compared to the ODB, but honestly the leather is great. It's not thin, it is pliable and comfortable but still sturdy, and it looks fantastic. I scratched it in one spot on a stick during my hike, but the blemish just gives it character. That's the beauty of leather shoes, anyway: I'm really looking forward to these aging further and acquiring that worn leather look. And I know the synthetic soles will really last and and not wear out before that happens. For all these reasons, I think the B2 is a great shoe and probably the better value compared to the ODB. Before I bought these I was looking at other styles of chukkas from Clarks and other brands, so allow me to make a few observations about the style as well. I was a little worried about these being comfortable around the ankle because they lack cushioning and I thought they might dig into my Achilles area. Here's why that's not a concern at all: unlike a traditional boot, the laces are low and don't tighten up around your ankle, but on the top of your foot instead. The leather is pliable and sits gently on your ankle with lots of play. So that, along with the fact that they fit great all over and with the addition of some Dr Scholls, makes these actually one of my most comfortable pair of shoes. I had originally been looking for kind of an everyday boot, sort of a chukka style with a more chunky boot sole, but I couldn't quite find one I liked (Timbs are too chunky, Redwings too expensive, some of the other Clarks didn't have good color options, etc.). So I'm still kind of in the market for that, but in the meantime these B2s were by far the least expensive shoe I looked at, they look fantastic, and I'm really glad I picked them up.

I love these boots. They look great and fit well. I normally use a 10.5 in most sneakers, but these 10's fit fine. This is my second pair, and the price point was very good. Are they real leather? I think so. Don't expect a lot of cushioning as they are pretty minimalist. They are not in the same category as premium boots, not are they work boots. They are just good kicking around boots, which definitely have a place in your closet.

I bought these boots in the beeswax color, and have been wearing them regularly for about 3 weeks now. They look nice and fit well, but aren't very comfortable. More on that later. Based on other reviews, I ordered a half size smaller than usual (11.5 instead of 12). I *think* this was the right call, but due to the comfort issues I've had, I wish I'd ordered a few different sizes to try and then returned all but one (after consulting the return policy). A few points to make: -First and most importantly: comfort. The leather was quite tight and uncomfortable at first against the tops of my feet and the sides of my little toes. This improved a lot as I broke them in (protip: don't do the laces up too tight. The shape of the boot does a good job of holding your foot all by itself), but the insoles are still painfully hard beneath the "ball" of the little toe. Grocery-store inserts would probably help, but there isn't enough vertical space to accommodate them. The hard insoles are the reason I didn't award five stars. -Second, the beeswax color appears quite a bit lighter in person than in the photo. Not so much that I believe the picture is of a different boot; it's probably just a lighting effect. The attached photo (from the same product on the Macy's website) gives a more accurate impression. -Third, it's not obvious from the pictures or text, but it's worth noting that the beeswax boot is made of napped leather. Not suede, but not smooth either. Nubuck? This is neither good nor bad (it's consistent with the style), just something to know. -Fourth: Some reviewers have complained that the boot doesn't hold their heels in place well. This has not been the case for me at all. I've actually been impressed by how well they hold my feet in position considering they only have two pairs of eyelets each. -Finally, for what it's worth, I did *not* have the problem with sole separation that another reviewer experienced, and I've flexed the things pretty hard.

I couldn't decide which pair of bushacre's to get so I purchased both the 2 and 3 and here is what I've concluded: - The bushacre 2's are made out of a thicker leather with a firmer temper. More like a traditional boot leather that is stiff and will break in with time. - The bushacre 3's are made with a much softer leather that is thinner and much more pliable out of the box, no breaking in necessary. - The bushacre 2's will absolutely need insoles. The hard rubber sole's are made out of a cheaper material (which actually holds up better to long term use than crepe) are HARD on your feet. This is coming from someone who enjoys a hard shoe, the bushacre 2's were too hard even for me. Luckily I had an old pair of clark boots that came with insoles and I used those. - The bushacre 3's already come with insoles and are much more comfortable out of the box. That said, the insoles are pretty thick, soft and "memory foam-ish". I might have preferred them a bit thinner. - The bushacre 3's also come with a different sole material, it's much more like crepe... might even be crepe, but it's colored in a way that won't get filthy looking like my original crepe soled clarkes from a low top pair I had. The sole material is much softer and provides more cushion than the Bushacre 2's BUT I've had crepe soles wear out completely in about 1.5 years so pick your poison. Bottom line, if you're purchasing the Bushacre 2's you're getting a stiffer boot in general which I happen to like. They do have plastic coated eyelets instead of brass which the Bushacre 3's have but they are both made from metal. With an insole, the Bushacre 2's feel more secure and resistant to hard use. For loafing around town and working in a deskjob the Bushacre 3's will be perfect for you. They are very different, funnily enough the Bushacre 3's cost $10 less than the Bushacre 2's. Now that I've added an insole to the 2's I actually prefer them to the 3's but the 3's are very comfortable and a great buy for a "ready out of the box" solution.
