This small shaver works very well for what it is. It's reasonably priced, and screams Japanese quality. It fits well in the hand, and is very straightforward to use. I found that it did not pull on my beard hairs, and did not chafe at all as long as I didn't press hard while shaving. If you have a thick beard like I do, you'll want to shave every day, as it will miss some hairs if they're more than a few mm long. I have a top of the line rotary shaver, but this one is more enjoyable to use, and I will definitely default to it when traveling. Excellent product!

I got this specifically for a closer armpit shave. I was sick of going through razors, only getting an OK shave when I shaved wet & still getting cut. This was my solution for shaving without water. It's pretty straightforward, easy to use & does the job really well. I prefer how this is battery-operated so you just need to pop 2 AA batteries instead of waiting for your device to charge before you use it. The size is nice, compact & perfect for traveling. I love the retro look to too! How stinkin' cute! The fact that it's made in Japan, at an affordable price is the cherry on top! The only con is that it's a tad bit loud.

No, this is not as awesome as the ones costing 5x more, but for just over $20, it is a terrific bargain. It is more substantial than I would’ve expected, the shave is much better than I would’ve thought for the price, it is not as noisy as many said, and it does a decent job on one or two day stubble. Not as close as a 3 or 5 blade, but fast and easy to touch up with. This is perfect for someone who wants a spare in the gym locker or a travel razor you won’t cry over if you lose it. This was my gateway drug back into electric razors after two decades of a safety razor. Electric is still not as close, but the convenience factor makes up for a lot.

This is great for traveling. It is small, uses easily available AA batteries, and most importantly, very well made. It is not as powerful as my home electric shaver. But it is flat and much easier packable than my other one. And it is at a fraction of the cost of the home electric shaver. What the other reviewers said were true that the plastic cover could be easily come off and lost in a bag. I too put a rubber band or two around it to keep it secure.

I wanted a very small but inexpensive battery-powered razor so I could take it backpacking, and this Panasonic AA battery-powered razor fits that need very well. It's small in height and width and it's very thin, plus it's lightweight, so it packs into my backpack extremely well. It shaves decent enough, it's not going to shave as close as a blade but shaves good enough. No electric razor, no matter what they advertise, can shave as close as a blade. I've owned large expensive rotary and foil razors and they simply cannot compete with a blade, and neither can this little Panasonic. Since the Panasonic only has one cutting foil, it will take several passes to get to chop the beard down, large triple foil razors do a better job, but still won't be as close as a blade. Foil-type razors do cut closer than a rotary type, not much closer but closer. So if you need something small for travel and or camping this is the perfect solution. My only quips about it is the foil blade cover, the cover is not very secure at all, and it came off inside my backpack, so I now put a rubber band over the top of the cover and around the razor to hold in place. The cost to do this minor correction would be very small, but this has been a problem with this razor for a very long time, and Panasonic knows about it but has refused to correct it. The other problem, which isn't a big problem, but they should have made this razor waterproof so a person could use it in the shower, or rinse it under running water, but they do include a brush, so you can brush the blade clean. The last quip is the brush, there should have been some way that the brush could attach firmly to the razor, instead, it's just loose, so the rubber band I use to hold the cover on also holds the brush against the body of the razor so I don't lose it. The brush already has a hole in the center, so why wasn't there a round male molded plastic plug sticking out of the rear face of the razor so that the brush would just press in firmly and stay in place? Those are minor quips, but all of them can be remedied cheaply, the only thing that might make the razor a tad more expensive is making it waterproof, but I think the added expense would be worth it, the other two shouldn't cost anything to make them work correctly so they don't get lost. That's why I gave the razor 4 stars, if they ever decide to fix those simple-to-fix issues it would get a 5-star rating. I can't take off anything for the closeness of the shave, because I knew when I bought it that a single foil wasn't going to cut as close as a 4 foil with far better blades like the Panasonic Arc 5 has. So, buy it for travel, buy it for camping, but don't buy it for everyday use thinking you're going to get a close shave for work, if you need that sort of shaver get the Panasonic Arc 5, or better yet buy a Rockwell 6C for an incredibly close and smooth shave.

This thing is a pleasent surprise. It's not going to be a perfect solution but when I wake up and don't feel like shaving with my safety razor, this thing comes in handy. Easy to use, easy to clean, simple and portable. It's turns on and off, that's it. I like to look too, much more than a lot of other modern electric razors. I'll also add I still don't think any electric razor is as good as a regular physical one, so for ease of use in the future I'm always keeping something like this on hand, rather than a $100 electric razor

I had a Braun M90 which was also battery powered. One day it just decided not to work. I don't travel enough to dedicate an expensive E shaver to it and I didn't want to lug my home one around. A battery power one is perfect for an on demand model without a sealed battery to get ruined within 2 yrs of inconsistent usage. I decided to try a long time trusted name like Panasonic and invest a little more. Pros: - cool compact style. Very travel friendly - simple maintainable design - foil glides smooth enough - had push lock on the on/off switch to prevent accidental knock on in the bag Cons: - the second battery contact (negative end towards the body, left bank) bent way too easy. In the braun they were beefy blades that held its form stiffy. After one insert of a battery, the one side has light contact. Not good - the shave was not notably better than that of the Braun despite me considering Panasonic being a "better" pick even if slightly - Braun M90 was better designed overall despite this being cooler - retro - slimmer - the foil cap is a separate plastic cover - can be lost In light of this comparison, I have to say that I'd likely get the Braun or try something else next time. Braun's had a more thoughtful and functional design. That had the protector integrated as part of the on/off protector so a simple swing 180 would either lock it down for packing or reveal and release the on/off to engage. The bottom had a hide away brush to clean the razor and a twist lock base for the battery compartment with sturdier battery contacts. I am actually a little disappointed as I couldn't even comment that there was a definite difference in performance..but no. Will I return this? maybe not, just to give it a chance and save myself the trouble of the drop off. This warrants a consideration of a good manual shaver and a travel shave foam spray at half this price for the future.

This trimmer is absolutely smooth in functionality. Better than the current generation Braun pocket trimmer (I loved the previous one though, it lasted me for 15 yrs !!!) But please note that it clears stubble of 2-3 days old only. Don't try to shave off your 15km long beard. It won't work 🙄 I use it to just shave my moustache area daily. A very good buy !!!
