Easy to read
Wonderful book. The only bad thing is that many times I was reading something and couldn’t figure out what was the age group he was referring to.

Hugely dissapointed by the outdated sleep "advice"
Any book that recommends putting babies down sleepy but awake, or taught to "self-soothe" should be widely avoided, and I wish I'd known this book would encourage that before I bought it. Considering this is supposed to be a book to help parents raise well developed children, then I was truly appalled to see it promoting and suggesting sleep advice that could harm emotional intelligence development and hinder bonding with care givers.

Not impressed.
Not impressed. Most of it is common sense/stating the obvious. And the parts that are not - difficult or next to impossible to implement unless you are on a 6 digit salary and have a big house. That does not discredit the method itself however, I just chose the wrong book.

A brilliant reference book with a very brief introduction to the principles. If you are intested in finding out more about the principles and the history of this you will need another book (as I did) but this will be the one that I keep going back to as my little one gets bigger.

Condescending
I found the book condescending in places and aimed at someone who is already applying Montessori. But it’s a quick read and not too much text on pages and lots of picture examples. Good for ideas for Montessori activities but I did not enjoy the tone.

Really insightful reading
Great insight into Montessori - the history and how it can be applied at home to give children a balanced start in life.
