Will these casters fit a standard Aeron chair? If so, will they raise the height on that chair?

is there a way to lock these wheels so I am not sliding all over the place. Very hard getting to stay in one position. Frustrating

Not that I am aware of. I use mine on a chair at my vanity and is on a tile floor, so sliding is not a problem for me.

Will these work on carpet?

It depends on the carpet. Medium or thick pile carpet tends to stick to the tacky rubber wheels, making it difficult for the swivels to turn, and it can actually pull on/damage the carpet. Short office-style carpet or hard floors of any type though, they're great. The wheels are very similar to roller blade wheels in terms of design and texture.
