All images are water kefir.** A: I do use them on Milk Kefir jars sometimes, but the design lends itself to Water Kefir better as the holes are pretty small on top, and thicker kefir will not strain as well. But the top is functional otherwise. **Q: Does anyone actually strain milk kefir through the part with holes and then add more milk? I did not realize these were really for water kefir.** A: I did not realize they were for water either. Do not buy for milk kefir as you will waste a lot. **Q: Will I need to burp water Kefir with these tops?** A: Hi there - Thank you for your helpful question! No, with our Kefir Caps, burping is not required. Thanks again! **Q: Will this fit my 32 oz mason jar for making milk kefir?** A: Hi there - Thank you for your helpful question. Our Kefir Caps are designed specifically for WIDE mouth mason jars. In the North America, standard-size Mason jars are made of soda-lime glass and come in two sizes: regular mouth, 2 3⁄8 in (60 mm) inner and 2 3⁄4 in (70 mm) outer diameter, and wide mouth, 3 in (76 mm) inner and 3 3⁄8 in (86 mm) outer diameter, versions. If you 32 oz mason jar is a wide mouth jar ( 3 3⁄8 in (86 mm) outer diameter) then yes the Kefir Caps will fit. ## Frequently Bought Together - Masontops kefir lid mason jar lids wide mouth mason jar lids living culture grain drainer starter kit for home fermentation 2 packs - 1 TBSP Milk Kefir Grains and eBook "Milk Kefir Unleashed by Thomas Egbert" - Fresh Live Active Probiotic Starter Cultures - Fusion Teas - Cultures for Health Kefir Starter Culture | 4 Packets Freeze Dried Starter Powder | Make Kefir with Milk, Water, or Juice | Re-Culture Kefir Probiotic Drinks 2-7x Each | Cultures in Less Than a Day --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/253497446-masontops-kefir-caps-wide-mouth-mason-jar-lids-water-kefir](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/253497446-masontops-kefir-caps-wide-mouth-mason-jar-lids-water-kefir) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-15*
