Jan Scott creates a classic with ‘Oven to Table’!
I first learned about this author from a salmon recipe highlighted in a publication I read. I tried it and it was wonderfully received by my family and friends. As a result, I was curious to know more. I learned that she was publishing a cookbook and this recipe was in it. Since I don’t have a bookstore close to where I currently live, but cook, entertain and host events frequently, I went on Amazon to learn more about it and subsequently then purchased it.What a gem!!! I have made several recipes, all well written and explained, using many healthy ingredients on hand in my pantry or in a local grocery store. And best of all, mindful of my time and other commitments. Jan Scott makes anyone become a fabulous chef as the recipes become memorable meals warranting the praise showered you and on them!! Sometimes classic cookbooks and their authors are discovered in their own kitchen rather than as a culmination of a life’s work in the food world. I feel in today’s real world of demands and complexities, Jan Scott has given us a ‘classic kitchen tool’ for making good use of one’s time, ingenuity, and sustainable resources without sacrificing quality and healthy opportunities, ‘Oven to Table’ has become one of my few ‘go to’ books in my vast collection of hundreds of cookbooks.

Excellent addition to cookbook collection
This cookbook is wonderful - easy, quick and flavorful recipes without a ton of ingredients or prep time.

Truly oven to table!
Unlike many one-pan recipes/ books, Oven to Table truly does only use one pan to prep and serve the food. Jan's thought of everything from breakfast right through to dinner and these recipes will help you get meals on the table with the least amount of fuss possible. The book uses six main types of cookware (Dutch oven, skillet, baking pans, sheet pans, casserole dishes, roasting pans) and Jan gives useful tips for choosing, using and storing these pieces. A must have for everyone who wants to simplify the mealtime scramble!I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review purposes.
